The Oaks at Ojai was absolutely spectacular. I had no idea what to expect when my mother invited me for the Mother/Daughter weekend in May 2008. The 1000-1200 calorie diet didn't concern me as much as the ban on salt and sugar. Caffeine is allowed though. My Mom and I decided to adhere to all the guidelines (lots of guests... more

I started going to The Oaks 5 years ago, first by myself and now I seem to have an entourage with me now. We go mothers day week for the discount. We stay in one of the new cottages and LOVE it..we have our own little patio aside from the pool area. The same group of mothers and daughters have... more

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Oaks. I was hesitant based on some of the reviews, but ALL the rooms have been renovated. Mine was a corner room with great views of the mountains and pool. Outstanding food, massage, facial, watsu and classes...I could just go on an on. This isn't a luxurious spa and yes, it's mostly... more

I was a bit cautious to try the Oaks after reading some of the reviews here but I am so glad I followed my gut. What I Iiked is that it was casual and welcoming for a woman travelling by herself. I have been to other spas and I have not felt as comfortable being by myself especially when dining. This... more

This spa is for 50 to 70 year old people that don't regularly exersize. Classes are for beginners and not taught by the best in the field. I have been to $13 a night hostels that have been kept up better than this hotel. There is only one hot tub and fits 4 people at a time. The fitness equipment... more

What a great spa experience! After reading other reviews here, I have to say that I think the people who didn't care for The Oaks picked the wrong spa for themselves! This is a BUDGET spa, continually rated best dollar value by the spa industry! If you need glitz and glam, the Oaks may not be for you! But if... more

I was looking for that mythical and prototypical spa - a place to get away, exercise and do yoga, eat healthy, get a massage. A place to be pampered and motivate healthy living. And I didn't want to spend a fortune. A friend of mine suggested The Oaks at Ojai. I'm so happy, it totally fit the bill. Ojai's just... more

Where do I begin? This is the second time I have stayed at The Oaks and it will be the last time. Since my last visit it seems that customer service is non existent, not that it had been that strong to begin with. My friends who joined me also had problems. I'll list them: We all were put into... more

My three days at the Oaks were fabulous. The exercise classes were uniformly great, I loved the location in downtown Ojai, the food was amazingly good for 1200 calories a day and the accomdations were nice. I had read some negative reviews here and almost didn't go. I'm really glad I ignored them, though I did make sure I asked... more
