This establishment offers both a cabin or a semi-detached studio or 1-bedroom suite for rental. We stayed in the suite, which was large and very comfortable. Occidental itself is a tiny but very nice village to stay. We can recommend the Occidental Hotel. We had a very spacious room with 2 queens at reasonable price. Opposite the hotel is a very nice restaurant/bakery for having breakfast or lunch. For dinner you can walk to one of the (3?) restaurants in the village. A very peaceful place!

This is the only "reasonably" priced hotel in Occidental-so we stayed for one night. It's pathetic! From the grouchy clerk-we asked for a "quiet" room to the shabby decor-this isn't worth it. We booked advising Occidental staff via phone that there would be 5 of us in the room for 2 nights, and they quoted a price. Upon check in they saw us, and there was no problem with the amount of us checking in. The staff said nothing as we piled out of our cars in plain view of the lodge... More

They overcharged our credit card without telling us. When we called to inquire about the charges they were rude and even hung up on us!! Simply a reflection of a dishonest establishment.

My husband and I stay at this motel several times a year, it's our base to go spend time at the Ocean, which we love. It is always clean and quiet.
