The carpet (in spite of the Owner indicating that it was cleaned last week) was disgusting. While walking around barefoot for 5 minutes, I noticed my feet had turned black. Occidental itself is a tiny but very nice village to stay. We can recommend the Occidental Hotel. We had a very spacious room with 2 queens at reasonable price. Opposite the hotel is a very nice restaurant/bakery for having breakfast or lunch. For dinner you can walk to one of the (3?) restaurants in the village. A very peaceful place! more

This is the only "reasonably" priced hotel in Occidental-so we stayed for one night. It's pathetic! From the grouchy clerk-we asked for a "quiet" room to the shabby decor-this isn't worth it.
