We recently stayed at the Inn at Occidental and were very impressed with this little gem of an Inn in the Sonoma region. Our room was absolutely charming and the breakfast was above and beyond, not to mention the delightful wine and cheese hour. Our hosts could not have been any more accomodating. I would highly recommend a stay at... More

Fabulous retreat. Great service and delicious food. Would happily repeat our stay. Enjoy an afternoon glass of wine near the terrace fountain. Good restaurants in town and many Christian Churches to visit in the area. Short drive to coast over country road.

My wife and I stayed here to visit some wineries in the Sonoma Coast region, a top venue for Pinot Noir. This inn is well located for that purpose. Occidental is a quaint and pleasant country town. We have been to several B&B lodgings and this one now rates at the top of our list. Great charm and style; very... More

A very pleasant weekend stay. Our room was clean and spacious, with a small porch perfect for watching the sun sink into the west while sipping a good local Cabernet. Breakfast was excellent, featuring fresh fruit salad, scones, muffins and an egg-based entree such as eggs benedict. Breakfast service was brisk and personable. The location is off the coast a... But it can use some paint in the room. We stayed in the Wine Country room & tho it was very nice, it can still use a coat of paint. Also the wood areas in the room seem to need some smoothing out. The breakfast was vey lovely & it was good. I love the proximity to the Redwood forest.... More

In 2012, we wanted to stay in Sonoma, but were definitely on a budget, given our desire to also be able to purchase some wine from the vineyards. Given the choices of accommodations in Sonoma, we were having a difficult time finding reasonable lodgings at a reasonable prices. We finally found the Inn at occidental and settled on it mostly... This was probably the best choice for staying in Occidental. There were many well thought out amenities that just made our stay more pleasant. Excellent coffee available all the time, tasty cookies and a wonderful breakfast included. The only disappointment was the dirty stained carpet and an accompanying bad smell in the Umbrella Leaf room. It was hard to get... More

The Inn at Occidental prides itself on its high standards and dedication to providing a special experience. One of our procedures is to pre-check every room prior to that day's arrival to identify if everything is in order. If we find anything amiss, we fix it before the guest arrives. Additionally every guest is given an orientation and is escorted... More

Very nice atmosphere and warm hospitality. Overall, it was a good experience...probably the best place to stay in Occidental. The lady at the reception was extremely friendly and helpful with her advices. That was one of the highlights! Only a couple of minor comments for improving: 1) I would have preferred to have fresh squeezed oranges instead of juices for... More

From the moment we checked in, with the charming Marilyn welcoming us with a glass of wine LONG after the wine and cheese hour ended, to the day we checked out, our experience was magical. Our room was decorated with a circus theme, the soaking tub with rubber duckies and bubble bath was perfect, and the happy anniversary bottle of... More

If you're touring Sonoma then this is the place to stay. We stopped here for two nights during our honeymoon in California and it was fantastic. Really comfy rooms, a lovely lounge and a porch for relaxing, great wine and cheese reception every day and lovely little touches as well. Enjoy the wine!
