First I gotta say we arrived from San Francisco at arount 9PM by subway. Never been so scared in my life to walk down a street with my luggage. This area/city (Oakland) is definetely not a place to chill a night for tourist with packages and stuff. So first thing is that I would never go back to this place... More

I just needed a room, breakfast and parking for a 2 day - one night business trip. This place was perfect for me. The staff were great, very accommodating. The room was small but quiet and very clean.

The good news: this hotel is well located, the rooms are clean, and the free breakfast is amazing. The bad news: if you're claustrophobic, the tiny room will be the end of you. This was quite literally the smallest room I've ever been in at a hotel in the United States. Had it been a discount rate, I'd have understood... More

this is an older, REMODELED building, one block off broadway. the rooms are small, but newly fresh and comfortable with a full bath. great staff on the front desk. easy to get to from the 12th st bart station. breakfast is included served in the basement -- bit on the unpolished ethiopian, make shift restaurant. would suggest makeup/shaving mirrors in... Kind of small rooms with kind of small beds but the place is nice and in the middle of Oakland. I like to stay here because they have $15 parking and you can walk to just about everywhere. My last stay it took about 30 minutes to check in as the clerk was taking care of some big group and... More

After a long cross country flight from boston, I was looking forward to a good night's sleep. The hotel smells. My room has twin beds (not double-- twin, as in a child's bed). The person at the front desk answers the phone on the 20th ring, even though noone's here. There is no central air-- just a noisy room air... More

My last trip to Oakland was in the late 1970s, so my impression of the city was a bit off base. I booked the hotel based on its location to the meeting location, then read some of the reviews. Hint, the bad ones were wrong. What I found was a well run hotel, with friendly and helpful employees, a wonderful... More

Spent 2 nights (Sat/Sun) there in mid-October. Not in the best section of town but there was little street traffic. There was some kind of 'event' going on in town so a business on a cross street had very loud music (DJ) until at least 3:30am, when I was finally able to fall asleep. But this was not under the... The hotel was clean and the staff were very pleasant. The rooms are tiny and a bit noisy. The one elevator is slow, jerks as it moves and makes disturbing noises. The free breakfast was welcomed but very limited. Beware of the coffee. It was disgusting!

I checked into this hotel mid-evening and did not feel safe at all parking my car even though the lot was immediately next door. Probably the only good thing I can say about the hotel is that the young desk clerk was absolutely wonderful. The room was the smallest I've ever rented. There was construction on my floor which I...
