Welcome to Grandma's house. This was a great size for family and it was kept clean. It was older and had dated decor and a noticeable odor when walking in. Able to get used to it. AC was nice and cool. Paid $650 for 3 nights. I thought we were closer to Yosemite when I agreed to stay here (I... More

Best Western has the best rooms in the area. All the rooms we have stayed in are large and very clean. Most of the rooms are new. Best value too. Staff is awesome. It is located on the route to Yosemite which makes it easy to get to. The view from the hotel is outstanding. It is also located close... More

It was good overall, but I did expect a little more from a diamond membership. I like that the drapes are thick and the beds are comfy. I slept very well. The rooms are a good size, and I like the patio that you get with it. I like the big bathrooms, perfect when traveling with friends. I liked that... More

We stayed one night to be near Yosemite for a long day hike the next day. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a room up the hill, very quiet there. We went to the indoor pool and spa which was nice. Greeted by a deer when we left our room in the morning, so that was fun. Good... More

I've stayed at Best Western Plus properties before and they're generally OK. Sort of like a Marriott Courtyard or Hampton Inn. Cleanliness, basic comfort and bland conformity guaranteed. So I was surprised to find this hotel had a bit of character. It's still a mid scale chain hotel, but there are a variety of buildings scattered in nicely landscaped gardens,... More

The lobby is handsome and comfortable. Our room was a good size and plenty of room. The bathroom was huge. The Wi-Fi never worked and we had to call someone to get the TV to work. I had a good nights rest and I would return ~

Pros: Nice staff, beautiful grounds, nice pool and jacuzzi Cons: poor wifi, filthy, smelly, and outdated rooms, filthy carpets that blacken your feet, overpriced, not close to Yosemite still two hours away, terrible rock-hard beds, disappointing stay

I think one's satisfaction with Yosemite Gateway Inn is affected by what one expects. On the continuum of camping --> glamping --> motel ---> hotel ---> resort, I would rate this as a motel. However, if you're looking at this hotel, you're likely planing a visit to Yosemite, and resort should certainly be out of the question. So, this isn't... More

Pros: friendly and helpful staff, beautiful grounds, excellent pools and jacuzzis, two-bedroom option. Cons: smelly room!! Smelled like a dirty wet dog and the bathroom smelled like it was cleaned with a dirty rag. KEEP YOUR SHOES OR SOCKS ON!! The carpet was absolutely filthy! The kids went barefoot and the soles of their feet was completely caked black in... More

Last minute, by Yosemite standards, we decided to spend a long weekend at Yosemite. The available places in the park were expensive and with limited space. So we looked outside the park. All in all, this was a good place to stay. Easy to get to and comfortable accommodations. Interesting layout. I was expecting a block building, but this was... More
