We stayed two nights while visiting Yosemite....We were greeted at the door by the gracious owner and showed our rooms. They were lovely, spacious and the bathrooms well appointed. The beds were comfortable (and the chocolates on our pillow delicious)....the staff made every effort to be accommodating. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds and ate breakfast (included) outside. Feel free to... More

This Chateau is a gem to experience. The Chateau was built new to resemble a French Chateau 100s of years Los, and the attention to detail is no less than outstanding. Add to the beautiful rooms, main common areas, grounds, and a high class restaurant, the staff is beyond outstanding. Nothing is too much for the benefit of the guests.... More

My goodness, who would have thought this little, nine room hotel just south of Yosemite would be so wonderful. Everything was perfect, from the greetings by the staff, to the chateau itself, our wonderful corner room (Lavender Room), to the pleasant grounds, and the delightful breakfast. Of course the food and service at our dinner at the Elderberry Restaurant met,... More

This gem has been on my hotel bucket list for years and we finally had the opportunity to stay recently. From the minute those beautiful gates opened, we knew we had entered paradise.. We were met at the front of the Chateau by two very friendly and helpful staff members. While one took us on a tour of the property,... More

Erna has created the most perfect environment. From our arrival through ornate gates to a wonderful meal last night it was all so fantastic and Erna is a delight to meet. On arrival our cases were unloaded and car parked whilst we were given a tour of the Chateau. We had the Thyme room which again was perfect - huge... More

Chateau du Sureau is a magical location, totally unique, in a class by itself. We simply cannot get enough of this wonderful place. It is decorated with an amazing collection of antiques, period pieces, and other one of a kind works of art personally selected by the owner. Bedrooms, while not oversized, are unique, amazingly comfortable and inviting, and all... More

We were planning to go and see the Yosemite National Park, and booked a random place to stay near by the park. We had no idea. This chateau must be one the best resorts in the world. Great location with v e r y nice scenery, beautiful view of pine trees and the nature around. The chateau is good situated,... More

Other than its setting & gardens which were quite nice and security, this property was entirely disappointing and grossly overpriced. It was located just off a main highway and quite noisy outside. More of an issue though was the one & a half hours drive into Yosemite valley- a 3h daily round trip, so not ideal as a base to... More

We stayed here in May 2007 and was on our wish list to go back this year. Everything about the hotel was perfect. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Elderberry room, which we stayed in before and was on the 1st floor. It was very nicely decorated and comfortable.... More
