After reading a few reviews on other travels sites, I was impressed with the overall experience I had while on business. The rooms were comfortable, the staff well presented and the hosted dinner was very good. The first night was a hosted dinner in the hotel. Very nice. The staff was polite and non intrusive during the dinner. We had... more

I stay here once a month when I come visit my grandchild.  The stays vary from one star to five star depending on who is working.  I have had one young girl tell me I can't check in for 15 minutes, and walk away, to some really nice people bending over backwards to make the check in simple.  I have... more

We found this hotel on a gay referral site called "Purple Roofs" (listed as gay friendly). I tried to find this hotel on TripAdvisor prior to our stay under "Lion's Gate" but came up with nothing. If I had, we probably would not have stayed here. I found it after our stay under "Lions Gate" without the apostrophy and under... more

We stayed there at least once a year when our daughter's softball team have tournaments in McClellan. We normally stayed at one of their individual room. This year, My husband booked a family suite so we can share with another family. We checked in and found out the bunk beds and pull out couch were all in the master bedroom.... more

My wife and I got married on 9/22/07. We were scheduled to get married in the backyard of the General's House. It rained that morning so they had to move us inside. We had EVERY assurance from Melissa Fiolle that our guests would be met at the entrance to the backyard and rerouted to the right place. As my wife... more

Visiting the Sacramento area for a recent wedding, the Lions Gate Hotel was where the reception took place. As a result, we booked a room here to make things a bit easier for us. First off, it’s far from everything. You need a car, simple as that. They do offer free airport pick up. It comes on the half of... more

I am currently staying at the Lions Gate and thought I would post a word of warning. For some reason this isn't something I picked up on when researching the hotel. The standard rooms are "outside access" rooms, like the ones in standard one and two story motels. Where there is a door (and more importantly a window) that goes... more

I stayed at the Lions Gate while in the Sacramento area on business. Overall I was impressed with how well this military lodging facility was transformed into a privately owned hotel. This is a very unusual property in some respects because the lodging rooms vary from conventional hotel rooms to larger accommodations that were once reserved for high ranking military... more

Thanks for the nice review. As a sidebar to future visitors, please note that we are upgrading our internet service within the next few months to include wireless. Also, we're moving the wired cables to more "user friendly" locations through the rooms and suites. I appreciate your patronage, and look forward to welcoming you again. We stayed in the Family suite which sleeps 8. There was a King Size bed, a set of bunkbeds, a queen size pullout couch, another couch and a crib for our grandson. It had a full kitchen with microwave, and all the utensil, plates, pots & pans etc you would need. Only one bathroom with a shower no tub,, but... more
