This is a hotel that tries very hard on some things and is very trying on others. The check-in experience was reminiscent of a less developed country airport hotel in that the desks were undermanned (there was only one capable person) and that person spent over 20 minutes apparently explaining why the hotel was refusing to honor a reservation and... Stayed at the Marriott for business. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Location is great - as a runner I could start the day with a 5 mile run from the hotel to around Balboa island. Food in the bar is much better than expected - highly recommend the pork chop. Outstanding!

My husband and I decided to have a mini get away for our anniversary and decided on the Marriott Hotel and Spa. It was located in Fashion Island, so we knew it would be nice. And the price was good, especially with our AAA discount (I booked directly through the Marriott's website). I could had done without the $25 parking... More

You can tell this was a very cool place to stay 25 years ago. It's still nice just aged. Best perk you walk across the street to fashion island less then a 3 minute walk. Rooms were spacious. Had been redone I'd guess with in last few years. Not bad for the price I got.

Have had the opportunity to visit this hotel on business several times over the past year or so and it has consistently been good. Nice rooms, attentive staff, and a good location near the mall (fashion island) makes this a good destination if you are big on spa activities. Nothing overly fancy, but still OK. I will say that the... More

Usually I try to stay at inexpensive hotel rooms, but for various reasons I opted for the Marriott for this stay. The extra dollars spent were well worth it. They gave me a terrific room with a golf course and bay view and balcony, and I didn't even ask for any kind of upgrade. The service was consistently excellent. They... More

The location itself is nice. Tucked away from the freeway. But it is next to fashion island. The landscape and outside areas are really nice. But if you have lots of luggage be prepared for long walks and lots of inconvenience. Even if you are an elite member the rooms that are close to the lounge is a good 5... More

Recently attended a conference at this property and it was well done. The only downside is the self parking is a bit high at $26 per day and rooms in Harbor Landing our loud due to their open hallways (motel style). Avoid these room if you want a quiet space.

This hotel has a nice central location with easy access to John Wayne Airport, shopping, and the beach. I could see the golf course and ocean from balcony which was a nice surprise. The common areas are very well appointed, so I surprised with how few bells and whistles my room had. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with a great... More

We stay here because of its proximity to the airport, the mall and of course the beach. The amenities are fine, the rooms have views (some) and they are reminiscent of s typical CA hotel built in the 60s or 70s, short ceilings, short/thin doors. I think the blow drier was from the 70/! It's great for families, not a... More
