I stayed in a room in the two-story section of the hotel. The room was a bit cramped, and nothing special. I suspect the rooms in the other (tower) section of the hotel might be a lot better. The best part of the hotel is that there are several pools scattered around the property so it feels like a smaller... more

Stayed at the hotel (proir to attneding a conference in LA) and used it as a base whilst we played golf over a weekend (highly recommend Coto de Caza and Pelican Hill golf courses with the later being my favorite due to some amazing views over the Pacific). All of the hotel staff were very friendly and rooms were very... more

Stayed here for a convention for 6 nights. Pros: accomodated our request for adjoining rooms. Outdoor space pleasant, we had a nice terrace overlooking the golf course where we spent a lot of time. Near Fashion Island mall which is convenient. Cons: charged $18 per night for parking. Seems excessive when you're already paying nearly $200 a night for the... more

This hotel is not by the beach, although you can see the sea from many of the rooms. It's close to a large shopping mall with plenty of options for eating out. There's nothing particularly wrong with the hotel, it's just not very special, and is quite expensive for what it is, especially when you have to park $18 a... more

Staff was pleasant , Spa was OK. Everything else was below expectations. Video cable in room was not working (could not hook up computer to TV). Requested another one and was told they were out of them but would send one as soon as possible. Never got one and we were there for 2 days. They refused to provide a... more

Spent a night here in a damp, mold smelling room. The pool area and gym was nice. If you stay here ask for a room in the main building. The surrounding buildings are built like bunkers and you feel like staying in the cellar. more

Well...this place was very average. I can't say it was bad, or that we have any major complaints... Its just not on the beach, but it is right beside a big mall.. yeah, its fairly average, don't pay too much for it. more

We stayed one night as part of a package to attend the Newport Beach Jazz Party. The jazz was great and the hotel was wonderful. We signed up for a concierge level room and upgraded to an ocean side room. We were not promised an ocean view room but when we arrived we were given a room on the 15th... more

I wish I had known this hotel was a Priceline pick as it would have made the stay easier to stomach. My wife and I stayed in an ocean view room on the 4th floor. This is an old hotel with dated decor and beaten up mattresses. You can hear the people in the next room talking at a normal... more

I've stayed in quite a few locations around LA, and I will probably stay in this one from now on. It's an hour's drive from LAX but worth every minute. The location is fabulous - quiet, spacious and close to everything you need. Fashion Island is a short 5 minute walk and there are some great grills for lunch and... more
