Our third visit to Hyatt Newport, this time we had a room in the Catalina Building. Brigette on reception was very welcoming & helpful. We told her we had stayed before and didnt want the Bay Block. Room was nice, although due to the large trees outside it was a bit dark & gloomy. Still, the balcony was kept cool.... More

So I stayed at the Hyatt here in Newport for one night in September 14 and opted for the self parking option. Upon arrival was greeted with the promise of a complimentary breakfast too....great I thought. The self parking was $22 per night. I was charged $66 in total for the parking and then charged in full for the buffet... More

I was fortunate enough to stay at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach for two days of my vacation! I work for Hyatt, and have high expectations when I stay at any Hyatt property! Hyatt Regency Newport Beach excesses my expectations! Shawna and Bridgette checked me into the hotel. Shawna has excellent customer service skills! She was personable and seemed interested in... I travel to the socal area a lot for work and try to stay at hyatt for reward points. I usually stay at hyatt huntington beach but they were sold out. Upon first arriving I was underwhelmed at the property...it seems as if several motels were converted into one property many years ago. The lobby is nice but nothing fancy...and... More

We booked this hotel for a six night stay recently and were not disappointed. Very handy location - near to restaurants, shopping, the Coast Highway and an easy walk to Balboa Island and ferry to Balboa peninsula. Three pools - the lower one is kid friendly. If you stay over a Friday night there is a jazz concert series that... More

Wonderful location for all of our needs. The pool for the children was great. Kept the four grandchildren entertained for hours. Three pools on the property with comfortable couches for relaxing. The staff outstanding. We will return to this hotel.

On the plus side, we were able to check in early (1pm), and the room was clean and adequately sized. Unfortunately: 1. The air conditioner did not work when we arrived at the room, and clearly had not worked for some time, as the room was very warm. A repair person was sent out and was able to repair the... More

This was the second year we stayed at this hotel for the 4th of July weekend with our two children. the best part is the fireworks show. You walk out to a slope at the hotel's golf course, sit on the grass and enjoy the fireworks display below in front of you. They bring out a bar set up, so... More

It’s great to hear that you enjoyed our property on the 4th of July. Our hotel definitely has a great view of the fireworks! All rooms were renovated in May 2013. We have four buildings on property. All buildings offer a different layout of the guestroom. More

Nowhere near the level of property one expects at a Hyatt Regency. Overpriced. Overrun with heavily tattooed, heavily drinking 40 something's with barking dogs. Whomever owns the property should've reinvested 30 years ago in rebuilding two of the four buildings- we stayed on hard-earned reward points- mistake- they'd only offer rooms I. The oldest, run down sections with paper thin... More

With a name like the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, you picture something rather flashy and spectacular. This Hyatt was okay, but hardly what I'd call sparkly. LOCATION: Not close to the bay, as I'd imagined. There's actually a big hedge, a road and huge parking lot between the hotel and the water. Balboa Island is closer than I thought--walkable actually.... More
