We came for a 3 day weekend and had a blast. From the welcome at the bell stand to the front desk , the Shor restaurant - everyone was smiling, friendly, welcoming and accomodating. One of the best hotel experiences that we have had ever! Close to every attraction - Balboa, Hunington Beach, Fashion Island, and close to many great... More

This Hyatt has more outdoor amenities than most of the other Hyatts i've stayed at. The 9 hole golf course is a neat little layout and an easy way to get some exercise while having fun at this Hyatt. The Newport back Bay marina is within walking distance thru the West parking lot. Additionally Balboa Island can be reached by... More

Loved this place. Its located beside the Newport Bay. You can access the trail by exiting the back of the hotel and turn right. About 1 block to the entrance. This hotel also has it's own golf course - its a pitch and putt 9 hole. We were in the Balboa building and it is far from the parking lot.... More

In the 1970s and 1980s i stayed at the original newporter. My recent stay was very pleasing. The place has been rebuilt in a way that retains the original charm i experienced in the 1970s when newport beach was decidely less congested and the roads were not 3 lanes in each direction. We rented a conference room for a single... More

Business conference being held at location. Maybe because I received a discounted rate I was just "lucky" and received room on outside corridor(which made it seem more like a motel) and was facing pool construction area. Room was clean(only issue was stained pillowcase)and quiet. Parking at $25.00 per day was high especially with resort fee. If paying full price I... More

Agree with the previous poster it is an interesting set up with a variety of buildings. I had an unusual room with an outside entrance facing one of the pools. Property feels a bit like a mini-resort vs. a full resort. Walked the grounds and it is nice but not great property. The lobby/bar area and service are highlights of... More

Newport (Beach) Hyatt. You'd be expecting some sort of beach, etc. They have a Bay. Which is filthy. I mean cups and paper and glass everywhere. Pools were nice. Go to lay in a chair and they're FILTHY!! Bird poop all over them. Stains on the pillows. Food on them. Filthy!! Rooms are decent. Otherwise everything else is dirty.

We stayed in the hotel as our last stop from SFO to LA. Since we do not wanted to stay in LA we choose a place out of LA but close to Disneyland. From Newport it is only a short drive to Disney which we planned to visit. We liked the set up of the hotel, you walk in in... More

The hotel is nice. Rooms are a little small but the pool, jacuzzi, water slide, miniature golf, and atmosphere makes up for it. The staff are friendly and courteous. The parking is a little over priced. If you have kids, this is a great choice.

We stayed for 5 nights here. Really good food, tropical and close to everything. We rode our bikes down the trail to the back bay and also over to Balboa from here. Room was nice and clean as well as the pool. Staff was excellent. Nice to have a patio to sit outside.
