We had a large group stay here for our daughters wedding that was held at the Miners Foundry which is close by. We had no issues with reserving the rooms well in advance for friends and relatives staying here. The staff was outstanding during our reservation process and made adjustments based on our changing needs up to the date of... More

Our upstairs room was large, comfortable and very quiet. I loved it! the grounds are pretty, the location is great - close to town but also private and quiet. We didn't even have time to use the hot tub, or pool, and we went out for breakfast, but their breakfast buffet included a nice fruit salad and other great choices...

We returned to the NQ this weekend despite current reviews and past experiences because the chalets work well for our family visits in Nevada City. We were sad to see the continued slide of a once thriving business despite the best efforts of the pleasant, hardworking staff we encountered. Our chalet reminded me of visiting a little used private mountain... More

We stayed here with a wedding party- the spa was down. the rooms were old and outdated. the price was very high for the experience. it was a waste of money- they really need to remodel to charge these rates. dissapointed

We rolled into the Northern Queen without reservations at 10pm on a Sunday night in midsummer, when all the other pet-friendly hotels in Nevada City were full. We were met by two enthusiastic & conversational folks at the front desk, who offered us options and then gave us the "most requested" cabin on the property. The prices were so reasonable,... More

NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY. When I booked I requested an accessible room. When I checked in I asked if the room was accessible and they said yes. I can walk with assistance and use a scooter but need a higher toilet & shower with bars. Got to our cabin and the pathway to the room was steep and I couldn't walk... More

Hello Gloria, I am sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience while staying with us. Our cabins and chalets are not handicap accessible, and I am sorry that you were misinformed. We only have one handicap room on the property and it is a single queen room. It has a roll in shower with bars and bars by... More

“You’re outta there! You’re outta this hotel!” Because I kept asking him to please stop interrupting me, the general manager yelled at me and threatened to throw me and my wife out of his hotel in the middle of a thunderstorm. On Thursday July 2, 2015 my wife and I checked into the Northern Queen Inn. The wifi didn’t work.... More

Hello Don, We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience while staying with us. Our internet connection has been a problem off and on for some time, and the thunderstorm probably didn't help matters much. We are happy to inform you that we are in the process of getting new routers and a whole new internet service... More

This is a pet friendly place to go. We have gone multiple times but this is the 1st time that we have stayed in one of the cabins. It is the way to go. They are doing some improvement on the property at this time so the pool and spa wasn't available plus the train wasn't running but the scenery... More

Hello Zaundra, We are happy to hear that you enjoyed staying in one of our cabins! The cabins tend to be the favorite room type that we have for most of our guests. Having a large property in the woods is definitely accommodating to most. We are happy to let you know that our pool and hot tub are back... More

First off reading the Responses left by management for reveiws feel insince and insulting when reading the same response over and over for the negative aspects blaming new ownership for everything instead of taking responsibility for situations that could have been delt with in a more appropriate manner.I would rather see no response ! We like this place the property... More
