After reading the comments in the forum about National City, the family still decided to stay at the Comfort Inn South Bay. We could not have wished for a better hotel, it was very clean, the rooms were in good order, the staff were very helpful and breakfast was very good. We walked from the hotel to nearby eateries and... more

We stayed here because we got a good deal thru my husband's aunt who works for the chain. It was just middle of the road. The bathroom was tiny and the ac unit was broken in my in laws room. They didn't fix it till the following afternoon. The breakfast area was tiny and the choice were cold cereal or... more

Clean and very hospitable. Good for people who are on a budget, easy access to freeways. For a two star hotel, it had a great breakfast. more

Reserved at this hotel for Comicon Intl because of the proximity to the convention center and the outstanding (for peak summer period) rate I obtained. Freeway adjacent to a main artery to get you wherever you need to go to in San Diego. Driving to the convention center each morning was all of fifteen minutes. Room was more than adequate;... more

The free deluxe continental breakfast was very good. They have a waffle maker (it would help to have a 2nd one, as on a busy Sunday morning it would also be in use), boiled eggs, sausage, scrambled eggs, cereal, pastries, toast, etc. This saves a family quite a bit by not having to pay for one of you meals each... more

The only reason I was not a sleep on the bed in room when the rock came through the window is that I was away from the room having dinner in a nice neighborhood when it happened. I cut my stay short and high tailed it out of the dangerous neighborhood this place is in. It was on my way... more

Bad news first: The room had a musty smell. The television had lines at the top of the picture. We never did complain about the television, so they might have changed it if asked. The downstairs ice machine was broken, so we had to go upstairs to get ice. Our room was right by the front desk, which is why... more

for a non -smoking hotel, the room smelled a little musty, but we got adapted quickly. The bigger problem was noise, we both are light sleepers and I requested a room that is quiet, on the top floor. We got the top floor, but we got three young guys next door who were jumping up and down and shaking our whole room. They went... more

My family stayed at this Comfort Inn while we visited the San Diego area. The room was clean and quiet and the location of the hotel is perfect! We rented a car and drove to Balboa Park, Mission Beach, La Jolla and Legoland in Carlsbad. The staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was good. They offer hot and cold... more

I had never heard of National City before, and it's a quiet city the hotels main street has everything like lots of restaurants, pharmacies, groceries stores. everything was so conveniently with in walking distance. I definitely recommend this comfort Inn. Oh and their staff was wounderfull they didn't miss a chance to go the extra mile for me several times. more
