This is what you would term a very high end B&B. The setting is stunning - amongst an expanse of vineyards - and the rooms are huge and cozy with beautiful bathrooms. The rooms all open out on to a garden with a (very hot!) hot tub and lovely pool. The breakfast is lovely (albeit a bit different so be... more

With only 4 rooms, and being surrounded by 100's of acres of grape vines, Oak Knoll Inn is the way to see Napa with the privacy of being at home. I've been there a half dozen times and I like it more each time. First, John and Barbara make it a personal experience with everything from the 2-3 course breakfasts,... more

We returned to Oak Knoll after a six year absence, to find upgraded and urbane bathrooms and all the good things about this property that we enjoyed in the past. Barbara and John go out of the way to make guests feel at home, which results in one of the best travel experiences on the West Coast. If you are... more

I sent an e-mail to the Oak Knoll & John (the owner) replied to me personally. I thought to myself. . . how wonderful that the owner himself e-mailed me back. I immedialty got a good feeling about this place. So we booked the Inn based on the tripadvisor ratings & the personal attention we received whenver we contacted the... more

We booked one night directly with John. Both he and Shirlee went out of they're way to accomodate our needs. From a personalised winery tour suggestion (we were travelling up from San Francisco to Napa), to organising dinner reservations and taxis we felt wonderfully spoilt. The rooms (ours overlooked pool and vineyards to front and french windows to very pretty... more

Planning our (first) long weekend to Napa was no small task. We researched for hours....B&Bs, wineries, resorts, hotels, etc. We purchased a book, entitled something like "A Day or Two in the Napa Valley" by Michael Orr, and this really helped us narrow down the different regions and options. Then, the search for lodging was on. Literally hundreds of websites... more

We drove up from cool Berkeley to lovely sunny Napa Valley on a Monday, arriving at this outstanding B&B where a warm welcome greeted. The entrance drive is just off Oak Knoll Ave. but the rooms are quiet, very large and elegant. Bottle of wine with glasses and opener await; soft drinks and bottled water come with the room, in... more

What a gorgeous place. We absolutely loved it. We traveled with another couple, and we could not have been happier. Our rooms were gorgeous. We enjoyed our fire place in our rooms and the bathrooms were scrumptious! The best part of the trip was Shirley and Vicky. These ladies make it their goal to enhance your trip at every turn.... more

This is a very special place to stay. The rooms are huge. The fireplace is full of wood and newspaper, all you have to do is lite the match. The bathrooms are very modern and large. The wine tastings in the early evening are great. Breakfast was so beautiful, we took pictures of the plates before we started eating. The... more

We stayed at Oak Knoll in for one night during our honeymoon. I believe there is usually a minimum stay but they had a cancellation so were able to squeeze us in. We stayed in the room all the way at the end, which was large and very private. The included breakfast was good but the real draw is the... more
