We booked a room at this motel on line. It looked OK, so on our way from Lake Tahoe we stopped here for the evening. BIG MISTAKE!! The location looked pretty seedy but we were tired so we unloaded and went to our "non smoking room", second BIG MISTAKE. The room smelled of tobacco smoke and was filthy. We looked... More

Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay in Shasta City, I stayed one night during a week long fly fishing trip through Northern California. So the rooms may remind you of Grandma's basement from bygone years, they are clean and more modern than your usual roadside motor lodges. The front desk is friendly and I would revisit this establishment in the... More

Google had decent reviews; not sure where they came from. Even under $100 we should expect a clean room. Carpet is dirty, stained and has cigarette burns. Sheets were clean, but the bed spreads were not. Room gave off a stale smell. The air conditioner did chill the room down, but it too smelled. The plugs to the microwave and... More

This is probably one to avoid. It is not cheap enough for what you get. On the plus side, we did stay in a one bedroom room with a fridge. But all the bedding and furniture and materials make you feel like you're staying in someone's grandma's basement. Their breakfast was a brown bag of random prepackaged snacks and a... More

In retrospect we should have previewed the room before purchasing. We opened the door to and were knocked over by heavily perfumed air freshener. Unloaded our stuff, and within 10 minutes smelled stale smoke in the "nonsmoking" room. Before the hour was up my husband went to the front desk to speak with the management. They insisted over and over... More

I stayed at this motel years ago and was impressed by how friendly, knowledgeable the owner, Andy was. I went back to stay there again this past week and felt welcome as usual. The room is nothing fancy but the motel is at a very convenient location.

Because this had an indoor bathroom it wasn't camping, but didn't beat it by much. Having not been road travelers before this road trip to Oregon, we didn't realize that we should ask to see the room before paying if I have any doubt about the property. It said econo lodge on the awing so I thought I was alright.... More

We paid $69, which given the quality of fixtures and fittings (vs. say a Motel 6), was a bit over the odds, but then again, it was well situated in Mt. Shatsa, close to a couple of restaurants (and there aren't many in town that we could see). Guy on the front desk was incredibly polite and helpful and it... More

My experience got off to a bad start as the reservation that I made was not found by the desk clerk. I indicated that I made the reservation on the Econolodge web site and she nonchalantly replied that she did not know how to log in to the computer to retrieve on-line reservations. Unbelievable! Luckily I was there during a... More
