The pictures on the website were fairly accurate, the sunset views from the deck next to the boat house last Friday were spectacular. The views from the big windows at sunrise and when the tide was our were fantastic. Quiet, clean, friendly, we will be back soon.

Thank you for your kind words. Just to clarify though, the Boathouse has two types of rooms. The upstairs rooms do have the extra large soaking tub. However, the downstairs rooms have a dual-headed shower. More

We stayed at then Captain's Inn for the 2nd time; still an exceptional lodging. Close to Moss Landing Whale Watching, very clean, friendly, fantastic wetlands vista from the Boathouse room, great access to Montery Bay beach hiking and Elkhorn Slough kayaking! Your best choice! Great and very welcoming staff. The morning meals were wonderful as was the conversation, and I really am NOT a morning person, but the staff made us feel like we were at home. We had a room in the main house which was a bit on the small side but for the two of us was way more than adequate.

We stayed two nights in this comfortable B&B. The room was small but well appointed. Our host offered a sumptuous breakfast (amazing sweet potato pancakes one morning!). Moss Landing is just a few minutes north of the more crowded and touristy Monterey--what we prefer.

We spent the last night of our vacation here and my goal was to watch nature from the bed and that's exactly what I did. I also had fun enjoying the view from the shower. We stayed in the River Front room which was comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was really good, especially the apple coffee cake fresh from the oven.

Without knowing much about the Inn I reserved 3 rooms for a family Thanksgiving. We all are already looking forward to returning. Where do you find such a location with character, warmth, and willingness of staff and owner to make you feel like a place is your own? This bed and breakfast is memorable from the claw foot tubs in... More

We stayed 3 nights in the "Sail Away" room which overlooked the slough. Very comfortable with a seating area complete with binoculars and a bird book with which we could identify the various wildlife outside our windows. Our room had a large tub but no separate shower, however I would trade the shower for such lovely views any day. This... More

We had a very pleasant stay at the Captains Inn. We stayed in the First mates room which was downstairs and off the parlour. The room was very comfortable but dark as the blind on the street front was permanently down for privacy and the second window was right on the drive so you tended to have that at least... More

I was happy enough with our stay. Rooms in the original building lack views of slough and two, at least face, the road, but suprisingly it was quiet at night even with the windows open. Our room was small but very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. No real interaction with owner until we were leaving in morning. I understand... More

We stayed two nights, but missed the breakfasts because we had early activities. We appreciated the 'bag breakfast' left for us in the refrigerator. The B&B was clean and nicely decorated, the captain and the young lady who checked us in were very friendly. The cook was around a lot and actually helpful and friendly, though his voice and sometimes... More
