This B and B is an absolute must stay if you are traveling the coast of California or the Monterrey area. The rooms are all themed with a nautical flair that accents the small fishing village and history of the area. The rooms are comfortable and have the ability to create a calm and relaxing environment as you walk through... More

Terrific B and B with included excellent breakfast. All rooms are decorated with boats, nautical themes with private bathrooms in two historic buildings. Location is immediately off highway 1, between Santa Cruz and Monterey, CA., and close to Castroville (artichoke capital of the world). Yohn Gideon, owner, also runs the Elkhorn Slough Safari, where it is possible to see a... More

I highly recommend The Captain's Inn. Great breakfasts, great people. Breakfast maker kindly adapted to celiac needs. Go for the Captain's Elkhorn Slough tour, too; it's deeply memorable. I look forward to more visits.

For a number of years now we have been promising ourselves a trip to the Captain's Inn in Moss Landing. We had the most amazing and romantic get-away for our anniversary. When we arrived, the host Paul, made check in easy as pie. We was very charming and relaxed. He shared his ideas for things to do and places to... More

We just enjoyed our second get-away at the Captain's Inn as an early Valentine's Day celebration. We stayed in a different room, and it was as special and charming as our first stay was. The staff are helpful, friendly, and you do get pampered - but unobtrusively. Our bed was very comfy in spite of being a small "catamaran" -... More

We stayed here after a day of wine tasting over Hecker Pass thinking it would be charming and sweet. We couldn't get out of there soon enough in the morning. The room had dust and spider webs in the corners. The bedding was yellow old lace. I've noticed three out of the last five "5 star" reviews are from reviewers... More

Living in San Jose area for 20+ years and driving to Monterey for a get away was the norm for us. But no more! Moss Landing is adorable! The Captain's Inn is quiet, romantic, right on the water. We watched sea life from the huge windows in our room. The Captain and other staff were so friendly, such personal attention... More

After landing at the airport in San Jose, we rented a car and headed into our 2 week California vacation with Moss Landing being the first stop. What a great little village and Captain's Inn is a great B&B. Our room had a great view of the slough as they all do, I believe. We were able to watch the... More

Stayed for three nights and enjoyed the ambiance, friendliness, and amenities. Moss Landing is a quaint little village centrally located on Monterey Bay where you can do as little or as much as you'd like. My husband and I enjoyed the wildlife viewing and experienced guiding on the Elkhorn Slough Safari where we saw many birds, lots of (69) adorable... More

We stayed in Moss Landing after driving the Big Sur on our way to San Francisco. The Inn was beautiful & quirky. We stayed in the high seas room where we slept in a bed made from a boat & it had a bathtub in the window. The views were stunning and watching sea otters from your bath tub is... More
