We stayed two nights, but missed the breakfasts because we had early activities. We appreciated the 'bag breakfast' left for us in the refrigerator. The B&B was clean and nicely decorated, the captain and the young lady who checked us in were very friendly. The cook was around a lot and actually helpful and friendly, though his voice and sometimes... More

The surly man who welcomed us gave the distinct feeling that we were intruders. Not at all gracious or hospitable. Room was OK but certainly built for sound to travel easily from the neighboring rooms and outside. Breakfast was pathetic. Not only the menu but the way it was served and the unfriendly attitude of the cook. The cook was... More

If you come here expecting hotel service and perks you will be disappointed. But if you love birds and wildlife, check into a room in the boathouse. Just amazing what we could see sitting in our room. Wild turkeys trotted by! Yes, a real closet and bureau would be nice but the room had everything we needed and a view... More

The rooms were small, but nicely decorated in a nautical theme. There were several issues, however. Due to a dietary restriction, I contacted the Inn several days in advance to let them know that I would not be able to have eggs if that was going to be the breakfast. I asked if it was possible to have egg whites... More

This B and B is an absolute must stay if you are traveling the coast of California or the Monterrey area. The rooms are all themed with a nautical flair that accents the small fishing village and history of the area. The rooms are comfortable and have the ability to create a calm and relaxing environment as you walk through... More

Terrific B and B with included excellent breakfast. All rooms are decorated with boats, nautical themes with private bathrooms in two historic buildings. Location is immediately off highway 1, between Santa Cruz and Monterey, CA., and close to Castroville (artichoke capital of the world). Yohn Gideon, owner, also runs the Elkhorn Slough Safari, where it is possible to see a... More

I highly recommend The Captain's Inn. Great breakfasts, great people. Breakfast maker kindly adapted to celiac needs. Go for the Captain's Elkhorn Slough tour, too; it's deeply memorable. I look forward to more visits.

For a number of years now we have been promising ourselves a trip to the Captain's Inn in Moss Landing. We had the most amazing and romantic get-away for our anniversary. When we arrived, the host Paul, made check in easy as pie. We was very charming and relaxed. He shared his ideas for things to do and places to... More

We just enjoyed our second get-away at the Captain's Inn as an early Valentine's Day celebration. We stayed in a different room, and it was as special and charming as our first stay was. The staff are helpful, friendly, and you do get pampered - but unobtrusively. Our bed was very comfy in spite of being a small "catamaran" -... More

We stayed here after a day of wine tasting over Hecker Pass thinking it would be charming and sweet. We couldn't get out of there soon enough in the morning. The room had dust and spider webs in the corners. The bedding was yellow old lace. I've noticed three out of the last five "5 star" reviews are from reviewers... More
