When we booked to stay at Morro Bay we weren't told that there were renovations going on and that the restaurant was undergoing a refurb and that our breakfast would be only continental with plastic plates, cups etc. For what they were charging it was a very disappointing stay and we were not impressed with the receptionist, she was not... Reserved a bay view King room. The room I was given while facing the bay would be better described as car/parking lot view. In addition it was two doubles not a king. When I asked to be moved to the bay view king I had reserved and paid for I was told all rooms were occupied, no apologies, no offer... More

We are really not too picky in our travels, have stayed in 5 star in Manhattan and 2 star in Paso Robles, this place is no 3-4 star hotel. First rooms were not ready even though the property seemed fairly vacant with no cars/ guests. Then the renovations, no food/bar. A previous reveiwer mentioned about the noise from the ice... More

Booked our rooms in February for September and not Labor Day. Renovations were being done which we were not informed of when we booked the the room nor two weeks prior when we called to confirm our reservation. We could not get our rooms on time, the ladies at the "front desk" were so much less than pleasant, the ice... More

Beautiful view, with a large balcony, clean, classic, but there is only a shower, no tub, and there is nowhere on the website that notifies you there is no tub. I would have never booked three nights if I had know there was no bathtub.

I can't complain about the location or the service. Situated near the water, with a golf course on the other side of the road, the location is no problem, although it is about a mile from the nearest restaurant. Actually, the hotel has a restaurant, but it won't be open until November 1. (Note: their webite shows restaurant opening in... More

When I booked this room on line the pictures looked pretty good. When we arrived the girl at the front desk was Miss No Personality and gave us a room overlooking the pool. There is a pretty high fence around the pool, so there is no view from the ground floor rooms. We were put in room 311 which was... More

The evening and dawn chorus of birdsong is about as transcendent as i've experienced at a hotel. Love it! So peaceful. Today we saw parents feeding their juvenile cormorants and I felt so lucky. On another note: For the deluxe prices we're paying wish the bathroom had a tub... . And the hotel had a resto.

Frankly we were really disappointed. We arrived at 3:30 to be told by a really curt receptionist that we were 30 minutes too early. I then witnessed a couple arriving immediately after me that they could check in even though the room was not yet ready!!! When we returned at 4:30, we had to wait behind a queue for the,... More

The standout feature of this hotel is its location at the edge of a state park with a beautiful view of Morro Bay and Morro Rock. The sunsets from here are spectacular, and the state park next door provides a great place to walk or run (watch out for the cars, though, since the shoulders are next to nonexistent!). The... More
