On its website, the Ascot Inn is described as, "The ideal destination for travelers looking for comfort and simple elegance at affordable rates. This 25-unit inn offers all the comforts of home." If your home has cracks in the ceiling, worn, wet and moldy carpets, window screens torn off and layng in the dirt, cracked and peeling walls, door locks... More

Morro Bay is the ideal place to stay for a night if you're travelling down Highway1. This is a low-key, working town with a pleasant harbour and friendly bars and restaurants. It lacks the sophistication of other small towns and cities on the west coast but has great "small town America" charm. If you're travelling out of season you can... More

Don't stay at this hotel unless you are prepared for aweful furniture, old beds, room cleaning by request, and noisy rooms. The Ascot web site is very misleading! Contential Breakfast ? Yea, after I saw their dog eat a egg off the carptet floor lobby ! The staff could care less about you staying there...

We arrived at the Ascot Inn (not equal to the suites -- which looked much nicer but were closed while we were there...) and ended up in a small but pleasantly furnished and clean room. It was disappointing that one of the lights didn't work on the lightstand next to the bed. However, our major disappointment was in discovering that... More

Ok - but not great. Nothing special. Basic cheap motel. Useless breakfast. Bland place, but clean. Great location close to restaurants and the beach. Cheap for $99 (including Heast Castle tour). Probably would not stay again.

I decided to book a trip up to Morro Bay for just me and my husband. (no kids) I booked us on the Amtrak Train which lets you off at the San Luis Obispo Station. I had made arrangements for a shuttle service in SLO called "Ride -On" to pick us up there and take us to Morro Bay. This... More

My husband and I decided on Morro Bay for a mid-week getaway. We reserved a room at the Ascot Inn online. The hotel pictures we saw online were very accurate. Our room was very clean and charming. We loved it. I don't think we used our car once. The hotel was located right in the middle of everything. We look... More

I read the two previous reviews and booked the Ascot Inn. What a mistake. Room 123 ceilings were cracked and the place look like hell. No soap provided. Chezzie! The manager moved me to the Ascot Suites for the same price. The suites are sweet, but the best deal is during week days. $99. for returning guests. The manager, Felix,... More

The evening desk clerk was quite friendly and the inn was located within a block of shopping and restaurants in the Embarcadero. The first room I was given was on the ground floor and the bathroom window did not lock, so I requested a room on the second floor and was kindly given one. The rooms are clean but small... More
