The good: Do not book a hotel room if you are trying to get away for a romantic weekend. This hotel is In need of major overall renovation. The walls were the thinnest we have ever experienced in a hotel. You could hear conversations of everyone in ALL the rooms that surrounded us. We thought the ceiling was going to... More

I stayed at Fireside Inn for a night over Christmas 2014. It looked decent from the outside, and location was only a block from the Morro Bay waterfront (lots of shops and restaurants), but the inside needed much improvement to even be a 2-star motel. First, they only issue a small credit card receipt, no computer printout of official hotel... More

We found this hotel expensive for what it is, however, the area is expensive, so relatively speaking it wasn't too bad. Perfectly comfortable and clean but essentially fairly basic. Quite noisy, we were next to the vending and ice machines and the road, and as there was no aircon we had to have the window open, which made it quite... More

This hotel is amazing. My sister, mother, 2 year old nephew and I stayed here for 2 nights and we will definitely be coming back! It's location is awesome, it's literally up the street from morro rock, it's also in the middle of ALL the shops!! We had room 103 and it was very spacious! My nephew had tins of... More

Quant and comfortable hotel. Location was excellent. Excellent views of "the rock" and was walking distance to the town center and food and shopping. Stayed during my trip to the fair. Was affordable and the room seemed recently renovated. Room was clean and comfortable. Could feel the ocean breeze from the balcony. Breakfast was sufficient. Danishes were excellent. Staff was... Can't complain about anything in special - good location and a cheap price compared with all the outrageous prices in CA during this time of the year. Walking distance from the main places. The room was big and clean even though there was a strange smell inside. You have wifi signal but that doesn't mean you have internet - at... More

We were travelling down from San Fran to LA so aimed for couple nights stay half way down coast. Morro Bay was cheapest I could find on the coast. It has what you need for night or two, shower works bed has clean sheets etc. Didn't partake in the breakfast though. But tip Dorns around the corner is amazing. If... More

Quaint little motel. Not a chain motel but clean, and well kept. All for about 1/2 the daily rate of the chain motels on the same street. Note-no pool, no a/c and no fancy breakfast. But you are 2 blocks from the waterfront. There is a nice breeze, and just a short walk from the beach. They have basic Danish... More

I have stayed at the Fireside Inn a few times now, and each time I am given a great, clean, modernized room for a very good price. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a block away from the Embarcadero. I can walk there and not need to find parking on the Embarcadero. The owners are always very welcoming... More

We were in San Luis Obispo for the weekend. Stayed in another hotel in SLO on Friday night and wanted to stay in Morro Bay on Saturday night. We only needed the room for one night. I read the reviews and thought I'd take a chance...it was a mistake.....$200 down the drain. We were allowed early check in, at 1PM,... More
