We stayed here on our last night out on a 23 day trip through western states. Morro Bay is a laid back beach community, less developed than some beach communities, very refreshing. Loved the soft water (is it a community feature or only in the hotel?). The hotel was a good value for the price. The hydrotherapy pool is more... more

I was pleasantly surprised about this Hotel, I had been by it many times in my travels to the bay, and had always wanted to stay there. They had many good amenities as well as being very very accomadating to the customer.Even tho this is a older hotel it has been kept up very nicely, with a homey atmosphier, its very... more

This is a nice and quiet motel, we got a good rate for a mid-week day and we staye here for one night only. The room is nice, clean and quiet. Though there is no a/c in the room but the roof fan which is already good enough for an earl y summer day. Make sure to double check the... more

On a combined trip to return my son to school at CalPoly and few days off to travel to SoCal, my 2 teenage daughters and I stayed here two nights. Although there was nothing bad about our stay, I felt that I needed to write a review because the previous posts had built up an expectation that reality didn't meet.... more

After reading bad reviews for the original hotel I booked, I'm so happy we switched and at a better price!!! The front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were nice and very clean. My teenagers enjoyed the spa and weight room. The wine and cheese was very nice after a long day out. As was continental breakfast. Would... more

My wife and I stayed there 5 nights this month. Very clean. Quite quiet. No elevators to 2nd floor rooms, but special wheel chair lift for spa area. At least one handicapped room--quite spacious with oversized bathroom. Lots of art prints everywhere. Well maintained grounds. Lots of "little touches" everywhere, like wine and cheese at night and a beautiful circular... more

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for two nights. The room was large, the bed was fabulous (like a heavenly bed) and the spa was more like a small pool. They had a continental breakfast (not much to write home about) but everything else was great. No view of Morro Rock, unless you crane your neck. more

We have stayed at the Masterpiece a couple times now. The first time was quite by accident. We had booked the Days Inn about a block away. Ever sit on a bed and hear the rubber sheet sound? EWWW! Add holes in the well-worn carpet, a musty smell and a sticky table and we knew we had to find a... more

We had stayed at another motel in March and it was a nightmare "cabrillo" which has changed names now. When we stayed at the masterpiece, it was awsome. We had a nice view of Morro Rock, which we requested the cheese, wine and little snacks they have down stairs held us over till dinner, the staff were very friendly. The... more

Stayed here last year with my husband, and we loved the room. We stayed in one of the suites offered and had a great experience. Checking In/Out was a breeze, and the staff was cordial. The room was very clean, comfortable and well-maintained. Had a very spacious room with nice furnishings and a well -appointed bathroom. Some nice extras were... more
