In Morro Bay, we spent the night at Gray's Inn, a family owned and operated bayfront inn and art gallery that features work from multiple central coast artists, and of course the unmistakable style of beautiful paintings and prints produced by the late local artist Robert Gray. The inn has 3 units and we stayed in the upstairs 'C' unit.... More

A real find. A small place with large rooms, kitchenette with good appliances (and they supply coffee), comfortable bed, good easy chairs, and a large private balcony that is right on the waterfront on the bay. Perfect view of the rock and boats out front. Only noise at night was a bit from the seals. Price ($149 plus tax in... More

We've been staying at Gray's Inn for years and it's always a delight. New owner/manager Todd is helpful, responds instantly to phone/email queries. One of the nice aspects of the Inn is its location at the south end of the business section of the Embarcadero, which means it's quiet. And, for those who enjoy kayaking, there's a kayak rental right... More

This was my 3rd time here, and I have never been disappointed. My new philosophy is that if I am going to Morro Bay, I want to stay on the water. That is what makes this place so special. Todd will make sure that you have everything that you need and was very helpful. I found it difficult to watch... More

We found this place completely by accident on our extended road trip from San Diego to San Fran. We stopped in Morro Bay at the end of a long day of driving and looked around at the other hotels. Most are not on the water and most didn't have balconies - not inspiring in such a beautiful location. While pondering... More

Nice stay in unit C upstairs. Perfect for us for a quick getaway. The view from the deck is excellent. We had our coffee on the deck this morning and watched the seals go by as the tide came in.....great. Accommodations were nice, not fancy. Definitely worth the money.

Gray's Inn is located over the dock that parallels the shore and provides a wonderful view of the rock and bay. We were fortunate to get the upstairs room which is large and features two comfortable recliners and a king size bed. The kitchen is spacious and provides whatever you need to prepare your own meals. It was unusually cold... More

We have stayed at Grays many times over the last 15 years; This november we bit the bullet and stayed a good long time; one week ; and that was the right amount of time. The lower apartment on the southern end, was clean, plenty of room, a very functional kitchen, and bath; plenty of hot water, too. But really,... More

We have stayed here several times, and it's always a treat. Check-in is a breeze. The location is absolutely perfect, right on the water. It's a perfect start to the day, to have a hot cup of coffee, and sit out on the day overlooking the bay. We love the fact, also, we can buy our groceries in town, and... More
