I'm not sure why in the world these folks charge what they charge for this "OLD, MUSTY, CHEAP, NASTY SMELLING," hotel. The counter top in the bathroom is broken and was obviously just shoved underneath the sink portion of the counter top - an accident just waiting to happen. They only left 1 washcloth for 3 folks and we couldn't... More

Maybe my standards are a bit high, but when one walks into the bathroom and leans on the counter only to find the counter top to the sink in our room wasn't attached to the counter - it's an accident waiting to happen. They charge .25 cents/bucket for ice. Shouldn't a simple commodity such as ice come with the high... More

Stayed one night on our way to San Francisco, and was satisfied with the service given. The breakfast was in the small lobby (only three seats available), and offered nothing special. Did not use the pool since it was a cold day, the rooms were spacious, and had a kitchenette which was a bonus. Had to pay a quarter for... More

If you are not ready to spend a lot of extra bucks to buy all princely comforts during your stay at Monterey Seaside and rather you would prefer to stay near the very happening Fremont St. with lots of different options to eat, drink and have fun, the Econo Lodge is a good choice for you. Service is so so... More

Arriving at night to Monterey, CA looking for a hotel through Hotels.com we decided for the Econo Lodge Monterey Fairgrounds . The price was $ 189 per night and for that price we imagined the hotel should be very good. Upon arrival we found out that it was a really cheap place. Dirty - we even found food left over... More

We stayed one night on the drive between LA and San Francisco. The biggest issue we had was the walls are tissue paper thin to the point where we could have joined in next door's conversation. We did request a room change, but none were available. TV and amenities were ok, the bathroom was tired but useable. Ample free parking,... More

My reservation was from Thur through Monday. A day before I found out I would not be checking out on Monday, but on Sunday, but I needed the room Wed. When I got there they said I could not switch the days. So I ended paying for Wed. If your into shopping on tv then this is the place for... More

I'm a hotel snob, if you will. My 3 year old daughter and I stayed here one night. For an inexpensive budget motel I was quite pleased. Staying in a cheaper motel I can point out numerous obvious problems which most of them have, but overall my stay was very good. Pros: Rooms equipped with desk, table & chairs, fridge,... More

Stayed here in August of 2013 for one night...thank goodness that was all. The entire property was filthy including the room which looked like it had been redone in 1975. The hotel room door was extremely unsafe and a party of some sort went on in the parking lot below our room until 2:39 in the morning. Dirty bathroom with... More
