Ok, first the good things: I liked the room and a little kitchenette area that was separated from the room by a partial wall. The kitchennette had a small fridge, a microwave and a sink, as well as a table with two 2 chairs. Lots of sun in the kitchenette area because of the big window/ balcony (nice!) Negative things:... more

This was our first try along the line of budget hotels on Freemon St. by Monterey Bay, and it ended up being a good choice. The room was spacious and clean, well decorated & well lit, with a balcony, kitchenette, and comfortable king-sized bed, all for a very competitive price for a last-minute booking. The front desk was kind and... more

We stayed in room 202. The noise was horrendous. There is a gap at the bottom door jamb that lets in light, sound and God knows what else. We were lying in bed around midnight, and someone walked by talking. It jarred me because it was as if they were standing IN the room. We may as well have had... more

BAD cancellation policy!! I am in the Army and wanted to visit San Francisco/Monterey. We were told this was good location. My mission was changed and had to cancel same day. They say there is a 48 hour policy and would charge anyway. My boss says stay - so the trip is cancelled, but I still had to pay for... more

We stayed here for two nights on our trip up the coast with two teenagers, a nine-year-old, and a four-year-old. We went to the aquarium in the morning and Carmel for dinner and some walking around. This hotel is extremely easy to find from the highway! It's located with most of the other hotels in a bussinessy area. The only... more

We stayed for one night during our drive up the CA coast. It was nice enough. We paid $100 which was more than we wanted to pay. However, it was the most reasonable price we could find in August in the area. The room was plenty big and it was nice to have a table and chairs in the room.... more

If a "wetbar" means running water, and a room with room for a "rollaway" means you have to roll away the furniture already in the room for it to fit the rollaway into it, and the partial room divider means they've cut into an already only medium sized room to cram in a microwave stand and a tiny frig, and... more

Our stay was less than good. We arrived 30 minutes before regular check in were told our room would not be ready for another hour. I found this strange as there were no cars in the parking lot. It seemed that no one else was staying there. The constant noise of other occupants kept waking us from our sleep, especially... more

Background: Got a two-room 2 queen size beds room ($85 on side step) for a quick stay in Monterey. Pretty good location-- Monterey is not that big-- very easy to find from the highway (Highway 1 -> exit Casa Verde -> left on Casa Verde -> right on N Fremont) Overall: It is an average 2 star motel. Nothing scary--... more

My wife and I visited Monterey Bay in mid August 2005 and needed a place to stay for one nite. This hotel was not hard to find, and although it is not at all near downtown or Cannery Row, it was a simple 5-8 minute drive to either location. The rooms were clean, and the owners very nice. We did... more
