Stayed here for one night- I wasn't expecting anything marvellous for the (bargain) price, and was extremely pleasantly surprised. I had a double with king, and a fireplace - turned out to be a lovely very large room, immaculate and very comfortable indeed. Bathroom very nice. It's situated very near the Monterey transit centre (where Amtrak drops you off), and... more

This was the last hotel we stayed at, during our Honeymoon. We had been recommended the hotel by a friend, and we were not disapointed!!!. The total cost for two nights including tax was $130, and we were given a nice junior suite. The Hotel was busy on the Friday Night, but not so much on the Saturday. The staff... more

I booked this room two and a half weeks prior to my stay for new years eve 2008. I chose this hotel for 2 reasons. It was only 2 blocks from the new years eve event (so i woludn't have to drive), and I would receive a AAA discount. The hotel clerk called 20 minutes prior to my arrival for... more

I recently stayed in Monterey for 2 nights with my partner, on our extended trip around Europe & the USA. It was the end of the summer season & quietening down a little, but we were still able to visit a lot of the surrounding areas, & enjoyed ourselves a great deal. We booked our accommodation via the hotels.com website,... more

We paid about $76/night (AAA rate mid week for a basic queen room). It was a lower level room facing the parking lot. The room was clean with a fireplace, sink, and mini fridge. The walls are VERY thin. You can hear EVERYTHING! Upstairs guest's TV, talking, doors opening and closing. Being on the lower level the ceiling creaked when... more

I was a little apprehensive about staying at this hotel because I had read some bad reviews about it, but it wasn't all THAT bad. Having said that, it wasn't that great, either. We requested a wake-up call for 7:00 AM, but we never got one. Thankfully, I'd set a back-up alarm just in case, or we might've missed our... more

We stayed at the Sand Dollar Inn for one night. I paid $125 (taxes included) for a queen bed suite as it was separated in its own room. We also had a gas fireplace, mini refrigerator and our own balcony. Pretty decent deal on paper….. We arrived at the hotel and on the outside, the place looked nice, clean and... more

We stayed here for one night, we (2 adults and a 14 & 11yearold)were travelling down from San Francisco to Los Angeles and it was an ideal stop over motel. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and adequate, nothing fancy or extra special, ( and in line with the the post declaring it romantic - it must have been a... more

This was my first trip to Monterey and was meant to be a special one with someone special. It was just that. The hotel was a bit noisy, but other than that the hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel was easily accessible to and from Cannery Row and the Aquarium. It also helped that there... more
