The hotel charged our credit card 4 times for a one night stay. When I called the hotel Neil from the Front Desk put me on hold for over 10 minutes. When I hanged up and called back he said he was to busy to help me. The next day I called and asked for the General Manager Ken. Neil... more

Although this guest had originally made a reservation for 1 night, he had extended his stay and actually stayed for 5 nights. This guest is financially responsible for the remainder of the nights and his credit card company had requested for the supporting documentation of his 5 night stay. We provided this to his credit card company and we were...

Let me start by saying, I have stayed at several LQ's, and never had a bad stay or experienced the lack of customer service that I experienced this weekend. Upon reaching the hotel, we noticed it looked closed, and like a bomb had hit it:complety covered in scaffling. We had to drive around the property three times just to figure... more

I use this site religiously, and based upon the decent reviews and moderate cost of the hotel, decided to stay at the La Quinta Inn Monterey. I should say, right off the bat, that we never physically stayed at the hotel. In fact, we never stepped foot in the building. The pictures that the hotel posted on the site made... more

We booked several rooms at the La Quinta in Monterey, CA for our family reunion. Based on discussion with the front desk, the rooms were all recently renovated (Oct’06). We booked a One King Bed, Non-smoking room via the LQ website with the AAA discount. The room was adequate in size. Along with a king size bed, the room held... more

This La Quinta was perfect, brand newly remodelled, modern - just very nice. We felt really at home. The hallways are still a bit run down and the breakfast was quite basic but most important is the room and this was above average, very nicely decorated and clean. Would immediately come again and recommend it. more

This is a very good choice in the moderate-price range. The rooms are modern, attractive and quite large. Each has a sitting area next to its bay window. Bathrooms have marble countertops. Rooms have a writing desk with office chair and a separate built-in marble-top coffee stand. The hotel is 3 stories high, with the first level devoted to carports.... more

I stayed in this hotel for one night in Mid September. Booked 2 non-smoking rooms. Upon check-in I'd have to agree with some of the previous reviewers - the place looks a little beat up and run down. One of the rooms had to be changed for another because it smelled like smoke. I also upgraded for the "lake-view" room.... more

First of all I would like to thank you for bringing the issue of the homeless person into light. We have been addressing the issue and have notified the concerned officials about it. Regarding the exterior of the hotel, we are in process of renovating the exterior as well as the lobby area. Thank you for your time.

Stayed for 1 night on our trip down the Pacific Coast Highway. What a pleasant surprise. Room was very clean, bed comfortable. Front desk courteous. Free parking and breakfast. Would return again. more

Upon arrival I knew we should have booked somewhere else. Exterior is run down. The inside hallways smell like cigarette smoke. I'm traveling with my 3 children & I find it disgusting that their once white socks turned BLACK in a matter of minutes from walking in our room. The bathroom we had to clean before we let our kids... more

We stayed here on May 15, 2007. The room was very nicely decorated and very clean. We were very pleased with the room. There was a small refridgerator in the room. The room was quiet even though there was a fairly busy street not far away. Also, the beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if we are... more
