This mom and pop is an awesome value in the off-season even on weekends. One story so no upstairs neighbors stomping across the room, but parking is tight. The heater creaks loudly when it shuts off, so turn it off at night and pull up the blankets. The bed, plumbing, shower were ok. The room I had was far from... more

We have recently stayed at this hotel (2 adults and a 3 year old) on February 21, 2009. We didn't book it in advance, just walked in after having checked out the Comfort Inn just a few yards away from Padre Oaks. Comfort Inn was $100 per night plus taxes, and I decided to go somewhere else, and I wasn't... more

We checked into the motel on 6 Dec 08 in Room 103 and checked out on 7 Dec 08. On checking in, one of the staff requested for my credit card to cover any incidental charges that may be incurred, even though I informed her that I would be paying by cash. I settled the bill fully by cash for... more

filthy and dirty. old and decrepit. the so-called continental breakfast was instant coffee inside the room and a breakfast roll from costco. the front desk staff was rude, inattentive and had difficulty understanding the English language when spoken to them. Other than this, it was an ideal location to be avoided like the plague. The bedbugs were friendly though. more

Surly and uncooperative mangement. Encountered a blocked toilet when we arrived they refused to deal with it. The inclusive continental breakfast was very poor compared to other motels in the area. We intended to stay 4 nights but moved down the road after one to a much better motel. more

We visited Monetery in October, which we Easteners figure was the off season, and brought a coupon we got from the coupon book we picked up at a restaurant. We picked this motel over its neighbors by being impressed with the lovely flowers surrounding the parking lot. Early in the afternoon, with a nearly empty parking lot, the desk clerk... more

Our family of 5 stayed in the two bedroom family unit for one night. The rooms were small as well as the bathroom, poor lighting, and the window treatments needed adjustments. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Paid $263.27 for a Saturday night stay. I would not stay here again. more

We stayed here 2 years ago because of our guide book. The room was very nice and very clean as well as the building. The only thing we have to complaint is that the second day, they forgot to give us new towels. It was late when we saw it and we left the next morning so we haden't said... more

I've traveled all over the world, and the Padre Oaks is simply a great deal overall. If you are a person who appreciates old houses over McMansions, a little quaint motor inn over a fancy 20 story mega-hotel, you might really like the Padre Oaks. To me, it was a really great, very inexpensive, clean place to stay for the... more

Before booking this place online, we tried calling to ask a quick question. A woman answered curtly, and then when my boyfriend asked her to wait for a moment, she hung up. We tried calling again to complete the call we'd started, but the phone just rang and rang endlessly. This should've been a warning to me of what was... more
