El Adobe Inn is a motel and looks pretty similar to most motels. The rooms are spacious and reasonably clean (but don't drop your mobile behind the bed). There is a 'breakfast' included but one can hardly call this a breakfast (coffee + muffin). The location is pretty good; you can walk down to the center to have dinner. Free... More

First of all, I have to say I can deal with no frills motels. I am not picky, just appreciate the basics at a decent price, nothing more. We booked this motel...yes a motel..not an "inn" becuase of the pet friendly feature. Beware of the additional costs of children staying in your room. While most properties don't charge, thye felt... We spent two nights at the El Adobe, and were very pleased with our stay. We had a room with a queen bed, a double bed, and a sleeper sofa which was perfect for myself, my husband and two older teens. The room was pretty roomy even with the sleeper sofa out and it was quiet during our stay. You... More

We didn't LOVE the place but it had redeaming qualities. We were looking for something inexpensive and it was. I read another review that said the walls were thin and that is true. It was very no frills. All that being said, our 6 year old daughter left her "lamby" behind and the folks there were so unbelievably kind that... More

I was really surprised at how high other travelers rated this hotel. I am usually not picky where I stay, but this hotel had such poor sound-proofing (thin walls), that you could hear everything. The first room I had was near the ice and soda machines which was loud enough. But add to this that the room had a door... More

In walking distance to downtown and Fisherman's Wharf, plenty of restaurants in walking distance too. Convenient for access to Highway 1. Only negative comment is that breakfast was rather sparse and they had no breakfast area, so you had to carry it to your room to eat. Considering Monterey was an expensive area for accommodation, this hotel was good value... More

This is a well appointed budget option and well recommended. Clean, tidy appearance with well appointed reception and friendly welcome. Rooms arranged on two levels are well appointed, clean and with all the usual facilities. Wifi is available and it is very fast. Breakfast available from reception is basic, but fresh and appetising. The property is about half a mile... More

I didn't stay here but had made a reservation and needed to cancel it. I called early in the morning and someone said to call back. I thought this strange since I called during normal business hourse. I called another day and someone with a difficult accent to understand said that because I made the reservation online, I had to... More

The staff was extremely friendly and gave great recommendations with regards to restaurants and places to go. Very helpful. Couldn't ask for a better location. Walking distance to cute neighborhoods, shops and lots of restaurants. The price is right and our stay was memorable. Will definitely come back again.
