This motel was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and property was very clean and well kept. The beds were so comfortable that I slept like a baby. It was very quiet and comfortable. The motel was only about 5 to 10 minutes from Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row and was an easy route.... more

For the price, I was expecting a pretty dumpy place, but it wasn't bad at all. I've been in plenty of seedy motel rooms, and this definitely wasn't one of them. It was bright, clean, and quite pleasant. The bathroom and shower, typically in the worst shape in lower end motels, were both fine. No gross outs at all. The... more

We stopped here for one night in Monterey. We used to stay here, but probably won't again. The price was good, clean room, but very uncomfortable bed. A "queen" was more like a double, lumpy mattress. Not a good night's sleep. more

The motel was not very big and had a crazy but very nice receptionist. It is situated on highway no. 1 and it is only a 5 minute drive to the monterey pier. The rooms were big and clean and everything worked out very well. We would recommend it for everyone! more

My husband and I are young and didn't have a lot of money for our honeymoon but we wanted to stay somewhere nicer than the budget hotels. I was leery of this place because the rates were so inexpensive but I was plesantly surprised! For 150.00 a night we had a king size bed, mini fridge, fireplace (nice even though... more

A communication nightmare occurred over a 7 day period from 8-20 to 8-28. A simple cancellation request was all that was ever desired. For several days their business phone would just just endlessly ring, as I attempted to call way ahead of the required 2-3 (depending on whomever I was talking to!) days to cancellation one's reservation. Before I ever... more

We booked a room for the weekend of the Moto GP at Laguna Seca at an outrageous price thinking this was going to be one crowded place to stay. When we got there, and for the remainder of the weekend, the place was less than half full. Lone Oak Lodge took full advantage of a popular weekend in the area... more

What a find! My sister booked three rooms for a family quick overnight trip to the aquarium. I was shocked by the price--just $66 for a double room (tax included). The place is old school motor inn, but well-loved. The outside is very cute and immaculately kept. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The mattresses were very comfortable... more

When we travel we usually stay in chain hotels, but this time being first time travelers on the California coast, we decided to stay in small AAA recommended motels as we went South along the coast. We were looking for reasonable rates, ease of getting to local attractions and an included breakfast of some sort if possible. At this particular... more

Lone Oak is along motel row on Fremont St., away from the center of Monterey but close enough to drive to within minutes. The motel provides good accommodations and comfortable beds in a large room. There are many dining options nearby, especially in Seaside, only a short distance away. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was good. Our only complaint... more
