Stayed here for 2 nights during Super Bike race at Laguna Seca. It worked out fine. Room was a little dated (furniture & fireplace), but overall was adequate. One window was missing its "crank", so we had to work hard to close it with our fingers...(it had been left open & there was no screen..., plus it was cold!). One... More

Very nice hotel, clean rooms, spacious and fully equipped. Fireplace, comfortable beds. Central located in Monterey. Helpful and kind staff. Continental breakfast included. Nice DVD rental. Free parking. Great atmosphere. Quiet. We will stay there next time as well.

We stayed in room 214 for the 4th of July holiday, 2014. The room was not bad, I would say recently renovated, but slightly pricey for what we got. I believe staying on this weekend was the cause of the price, but it was a VERY last minute reservation on Orbitz (meaning made on the 3rd!). The ONLY bad thing... More

What a Great place! Conveniently located right in the heart of old Monterey! Walking distance to Alvarado street with great restaurants, and local flavor! We enjoyed our 10 minute stroll to the wharf too. Our room was clean and very spacious. The beds were firm and the pillows were soft and we loved the down comforters. Great list of DVD... More

We arrived to a rather large room which was clean. Bathroom was a good size and was also clean. Hotel is situated a 5/10 minute walk away from shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. There was a short drive to Cannery Row where there are some great places to get some food. The free breakfast went down well in the... More

We stayed one night in Monterey on our way from San Fransisco south on Higway 1. Colton in was very good value, located a 10 min walking distance from Fishermans Wharf and 20 min from Cannery Row. Hotel was easy to access, parking outside the doorstep, clean and spacious rooms. Staff was very helpful. For our purpose, it was just... More

We had a great time on our honeymoon staying here this last week. We had a top floor room with a fireplace which was great when it got cold at night. Goodies and snacks with free coffee in the morning. Everything was real close walking distance to the Wharf and to the free trolley that takes you to Cannery Row.... More

We had a large double queen room on the third floor (there's an elevator) in the back corner. The room was unique for a motel in that it had floor to ceiling windows. The ones at the end of the room looked out on a grove of large, leafy trees. Very relaxing. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we... More

We have been coming here for 14 years, and have always had a good experience. The hotel is away from the noisy center of town in a quiet neighborhood. Many rooms have fireplaces, and it appears to have been well maintained and steadily updated, so it doesn't look any worse for wear than it did 14 years ago. The front... More

We stayed here last summer en route to San Francisco. The hotel itself is fairly basic and the reception area is small, which makes it a little tight when trying to grab breakfast. The breakfast consisted mainly of cereals , fruit and bagels , all of which were fresh. A nice touch were the home baked cookies and coffee available... More
