This hotel was awful especially for the outrageous price we paid to stay. The staff is rude and not customer oriented. I would have been better off staying at a Motel 6. Would not recommend this Inn to my worst enemy. The room was not inviting at all, my kids were even turned off by it. You would be better... more

I loved the Otter Inn. The location, the staff, everything. Location is fantastic, a quick walk to The Aquarium, restaurants and local attractions. The rooms were clean and large. New tiles in the bathroom and new furniture in the rooms. The staff was helpful, informative and attentive. I would stay again! more

I have stayed in the family suite that is NOT offered online so pictures would be impossible. We stay at the Otterinn 3 times a years and get the top floor that has great views of the ocean. The hotel tells you about the set up. A king bed with an adjoining room with 2 queens. They even goes as... more

The "suite" that we booked was just a two-queen room with no bathroom with a pass-through door to a second room with a king bed and bathroom. The bedding was all mismatched, there was a terrible damp odor in both rooms, the carpets were filthy and it overlooked a dilapidated jacquzzi. There was a large gap beneath the door which... more

The Otter Inn has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Attempted to cancel a reservation 30 hours in advance due to a severe medical emergency and the Inn refused to be flexible at all, pursuing with a full night charge for a room that (1) we were not able to use and (2) they were able to rebook... more

I stayed here one night while touring the West Coast in September. I tried a few hotels in the area: Best Western, Holiday Inn Express and they were both more expensive than the Otter Inn. We paid £71 for a double room and the parking was free: the Holiday Inn wanted to charge us! The staff at the Otter Inn... more

We had a great view from our window (see photo), and there was a small window seat. The sheets were soft and the bed comfortable. The shower was great, too. No problems with the seagull noise but we could hear other guests' TVs (we stayed a Sunday night). No screen on the window; not great with a small child. Parking... more

We stayed at the Otter Inn mid-week. The rooms were fairly basic, but clean. Upon arrival, they gave us a basket of "snacks" which served as our continental breakfast. You have to have a sense of humor to accept that, plus the seagulls who were apparently having a convention while we were there. Now, I live in a community not... more

Sure, the Otter Inn may lure you in with their good proximity to Cannery Row, but dont be fooled into thinking you are staying in a good location. The hotel is right across the street from a large dance club - which plays loud music at night until 2AM. You cannot escape the noise. Once the club closes, the kids,... more

Great location off the bike/walking trail, convenient to New Monterey and Cannery Row. About 1 mile walk to Old Monterey section of town and the Historic Walking Trail. Decor needs some work - there were different competeing colors and patterns for the wallpaper, carpet, curtains, bedspreads, blankets, and chairs. Clean, but a little shabby (peeling wallpaper in one corner, chipped... more
