Our top floor room was 69 steps from the lobby. No elevator because this is a "historic landmark" and the owners don't seem inclined to activate the obviously historic elevator visible in the lobby. Ahmed was one the best things the hotel had to offer. He would carry everyone's luggage up 4 floors! Very loud street noise. No elevator. Breakfast was ok. Top floor haunted or something. More

Great little hotel right on Alvarado St where there are many restaurants and pubs. Great service and a great price. Bellman even carried my luggage over to the Monterey/Salinas Airport Shuttle a block away. No elevator is a minor thing, but there is always a bellman on duty for luggage assistance. More
