On a road thrip through California in January and we decided to stop off in Monterey. The Bay Lodge was the firts motel that we came across and it looked good. IT was late at night, but we just drove in. Reception desk guy was lovely, the room rate was amazing for a drive in, about $80 I think. Room... More

First I want to say that I am a picky person about where I stay on vacation. I usually stay in vacation rental homes. I found this by word of mouth and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are updated although the facility is older. The rooms are clean and neat and had everything I needed. A microwave, fridge, coffee pot... More

A comfortable lodge that comes with necessary amenities. Clean, spacious & comes with fireplace. And you can opt to have rooms at ground floor where you can just park in front of your room. Good location, comfortable rooms & value for money!

We tried this establishment after noting it while staying elsewhere. The Estero (Estuary) City Park is across the street from the Monterey Bay Lodge, an easy walk takes visitord to one of the nicest business neighborhoods in Town. The Old Fisherman's Wharf (the other one) is across the Highway from this hotel; as is the long and narrow white sand... More

Nice place in Monteray in a quiet neighbourhood. The sea and some nice restaurants at the mole are nearby. Went there for one night with two kids and they also find it nice. The room was okay . nothing special - but good value for money.

My wife was so excited to arrive at a real motel. It had been her dream to stay in a real motel during our road trip and boy did we hit a winner here. From the friendly reception when we arrived, to the heated swimming pool and then to the wonderful and comfortable rooms our arrival set the tone for... More

Used to stay here monthly on business. Don't know what happened, but this room is filthy. I stayed in a 60 year old motel in the Ozarks that had towels you could see through and holes in the plaster...and it was cleaner than this. No excuse for stink and filth. Went to open window to air room out and found... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights when driving from SF to LA. While it isn't exactly in the middle of town it was an easy walk to the wharf and a longer, but very nice, walk to Cannery Row and the aquarium. We had a car, but found it much more enjoyable to stroll along the waterfront.... More

My girlfriend and I were at this hotel for 1 night in the end of November. The hotel is simple but it is clean, quiet, comfortable and well located. Therefore, we understood that the price was good. The only bad thing is that the hotel does not offer breakfast. In any case, I recommend this hotel to stay in Monterey.

Quiet and good value. Do not eat breakfast at the restaurant - very very understaffed and unless you have or don't mind small children you're in for a very loud wake up. The pool looks cute and probably a good place for kids to hang out. It's right by the ocean, but a some 10 minutes walk to the Cannery... More
