The beds are very soft, as in nearly shot. We tried 4 beds, all the same. The most disturbing thing was noise above my room. I did complain about it and was told it was not rented. ????? There were some areas of neglect in the housekeeping attention to detail, nothing terrible, but it did make me wonder about their... More

My fiance and I stayed here one night passing thru while driving to San Fran. Recommend the upstairs room (214?) It had high ceilings, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. You park in front your room which makes unloading easy. We walked along the shore up to the old fishermans warf and ate breakfast. Way less touristy which is great! There is a small inlet... More

The location is great. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable . We spent most of our time site seeing so we only needed a place to sleep. We would stay here again. More

Two star motel in a four star location, so I guess that averages out to three. The lights are depressing, energy saving fluorescents; the one in the bathroom is so dim, you're forced to use the heat lamp just to see. Nice that there's a refrigerator, not so nice that it ran all night long with the sound of dripping... More

We decided to book after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor. This hotel is very nice for the price. The bed was really comfy and the shower was good. It´s only a short walk to the Pier(5 minutes) and the mainstreet(15 minutes). Would stay here again. More

$105 plus tax per night. Well I would have thought perhaps $80 would hit the mark better or perhaps include breakfast. As previous reviewers have stated thank goodness this place has been renovated I wouldn't have wanted to see it prior. Bed was very comfy, shower was Ok if you are 4 ft tall. Don't bother with the attached diner,Marilyn's American... More

This hotel has been in Monterey for a while, but do not let that deter you! The rooms have been redone and updated and it is excellent value for the price and location! The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially if you are a tourist. The location is wonderful. Right across from the bay and a shorline walking path... More

It's not so easy to find a truly dog-friendly place in Monterey, but this place did the trick. My hound is a bit larger than the usual travel pet at 85 lbs, and most places that I checked had a weight limit! Excellent location for easy access to the beach where I took him to run, and easy walking distance... More

All in all, an average, unromantic, decent hotel, nothing unexpected for 2 1/2 stars. Positives: straightforward, clean, decent rooms. Negatives: the heavy comforters they use on the beds seem like ancient nasty germ farms (but there is no blanket alternative), and there is no air conditioning. Another drawback, probably for all hotels in the area, is that if you are... More
