Two star motel in a four star location, so I guess that averages out to three. The lights are depressing, energy saving fluorescents; the one in the bathroom is so dim, you're forced to use the heat lamp just to see. We decided to book after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor. This hotel is very nice for the price. The bed was really comfy and the shower was good. It´s only a short walk to the Pier(5 minutes) and the mainstreet(15 minutes). Would stay here again. More

This hotel has been in Monterey for a while, but do not let that deter you! The rooms have been redone and updated and it is excellent value for the price and location! It's not so easy to find a truly dog-friendly place in Monterey, but this place did the trick. All in all, an average, unromantic, decent hotel, nothing unexpected for 2 1/2 stars. Positives: straightforward, clean, decent rooms.
