We are road tripping from San Francisco to San Diego stopping in at towns along the way at the last minuite. We booked the Monterey Lodge the day before on line, becuase of the price and good reviews on Tripadvisor and overall we were not dissapointed. The beds are excellent, very large and comfortable (we had a king) and the... more

Stayed here for one evening with the family during a vacation in the Bay area. The Good: - Very pleasant & courteous staff - Family suite was good sized with bunk beds for kids - Two free bottles of water in the large mini-fridge - Fast wireless Internet access - Decent sized TV in the main bedroom - Reasonable price... more

This hotel was recommended in our guide book but suggested it was $150 - 200 a night so we were very pleasantly surprised when it was less than $90 a night! The rooms were very spacious and clean and looked like they have recently been modernised. There is a large shower cubicle in the bathroom (no bath) which again was... more

We booked a one night stay at Monterey Bay Lodge on 3/16. Our Santa Cruz reservation fell through on 3/15 and we needed a place to stay. We called Monterey Bay Lodge to see if they could fit us in early and unfortunately they were booked. Cindy, the manager of Monterey Bay Lodge, found us a room at another hotel... more

I cannot believe how impressed we were with this place. The price was exceptional for the room we had. The front desk was beyond helpful and let us check into our room early and check out late! The room itself was fantastic. It was very clean, roomy, and updated. We also were very lucky as our balcony faced the beach... more

Found this through other TripAdvisor reviews. Maybe because it's off season, only paid $60 for it! It's set up like a motel with room doors to the outside, but is nicer than any motel! Good sized room that included queen bed, arm chair and mini fridge (with two complimentary bottled waters). Staff was very nice, I expected to be checking... more

This is an older courtyard style motel. The Desk Manager was exceptional welcoming and the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We were able to easily walk to shops downtown, to Cannery Row, and to the Aquarium. There is a little view from the courtyard balcony for 2nd floor units, but not really any views from inside the room. I... more

We could not have been more pleased with our stay for several days while on our honeymoon. The location was great, just across the street from the bay, within walking distance of great food and attractions, and a short drive to 17 Mile Drive. We were fortunate enough to stay in a courtyard room with fireplace. It was a decent... more

Traveled 11/23-11/26. Great stay and nice place. Traveled with wife and 2 boys ages 4 and 6. Stayed in a two queen bed room. I stayed here on advice from experts at trip advisors and could not have been happier. Did not spend lots of time in the room but when we did it was fine. Not a huge room... more

We booked this hotel based on the great reviews it received on TripAdvisor. It did not live up to the hype. It is close to a major street, so there's a lot of road noise. But we wanted to keep our window open because the room was so warm when we arrived and there's no central A/C. We did, however,... more
