I stayed at the Hyatt Monterey for a business conference in early August 2005. The hotel accommodations were very clean and nice. However, the service leaves something to be desired. On the morning of check out, I waited to find a bellhop to store my luggage while I ate breakfast. Upon entering the restaurant, I again was disappointed (having an... More

Do not be deceived by the description of this property. It is old, poorly maintained, and overall under par in every way. The hotel was oversold on arrival, although reservation was made two months in advance. Neither front or sliding glass doors in first floor room would close or lock properly, pipes thumped and clanged when any water in the... More

We were very happy with our room on 8-4-05 which we got on Priceline for $70. I was aware of the resort fee from reviewing this site. We had a lovely 3rd floor room in Bldg 3...which also had good reviews from some others. The only thing it didn't have was a balcony. But we were very pleased with the... More

The grounds are nicely landscaped but -----there are better locations in Monterey what can say. The room was just as good as a clean, simple motel only minus the contenential breakfeast that you'd get at most motels and cheaper rate. If you're in a last minute bind and have to stay here, then having paid at or less than $50... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and thought it was pretty decent. Got the room for $100 a night off Priceline, and was surprised to find a huge, clean room with a great bed awaiting me. Granted, I was in Building 26 (which technically is the last of the buildings and should be furthest from the amenities, but it is closer... More

If your looking to take a nice relaxing vacation, you will want to look elsewhere. I thought that I got a bargain when I arrived at the hotel and saw the nice grounds. However, the check in process was the first experience since arriving that left a bad taste in my mouth. We waited in a line about 20 people... More

This hotel was okay, we only stayed for one night, but it needs to work on its sound proofing. In our room on the third floor we could hear people in the parking lot clear as day. We could also hear the people in the room next to us as well as the hall. The decoration could be updated in... More

Hyatt should consider this hotel an embarassment to the company name. The property is laid out like a run-down Motel 6. Most of the rooms have outside entrances with only chains to secure them - and a not at all well lit parking lot. As a female guest, I did not feel safe in this hotel. Also, none of the... More

Lovely stay in a room with a new mattress that felt like we were sleeping on air. The staff was friendly, helpful and we have no complaints whatsoever. To those who expect the finest hotels at a bargain price, I can only offer a single piece of advice, "You get what you pay for!" What business would happily give their... More

We stayed at the Hyatt Monterey for the first time over the July 4 holiday. I loved the layout of the property and the fact that it is adjacent to the Del Monte golf course. As a Hyatt Golf Passport member, I don't think the quality of the hotel is up to par with other Hyatts that I've stayed with.... More
