Stopped in late one night, and the staff ( new ownership ) were very pleasant and set us up with 2 rooms. We had a total of 3 large dogs with us, they were welcomed. After our first stay, we called ahead and went back up again the following week ( as we were looking at property in the area... More

Rio Villa is fantastic! As a former Sonoma county resident of over 10 years, I was really looking for a place that truly captured the hospitable, laid-back feel of the Russian River upon my recent return to the area. I stayed at Rio Villa in November 2014, and I can think of no better place to get the true experience... More

Entering the parking area, one is surrounded by trees, falling and changing leaves and cute cottage type units. In the morning, stepping outside the cottage, the smells are wonderful and the walk down to the river through the property is relaxing and refreshing. I am not sure about the claim of a resort and not sure about the price asked... More

This was our second time at this property. (Not sure it qualifies as a resort…) Several rooms are dog friendly. They are called "cabins," but are attached. Lovely property on river-side that ambles right down to water's edge! The owner set up the fire pit outdoors and all we had to do was light it. We enjoyed the entire area... More

This is a quaint place that is reminiscent of the 1950s. The accommodations are, at best, comfortable. We have stayed there about 5 times in the past over the 4th of July holidays. There is an excellent fireworks display very close to this place. Fireworks are again displayed the day(s) after in nearby Guerneville. The meager offering of kitchenware is... More

We picked this place because we wanted to stay on the Russian River near the coast for a two night getaway. We were really pleased with our stay here. The new owners, Karen (and Owen) were extremely gracious and helpful. We arrived a few minutes before normal check-in time and our room was not ready (the previous guest departed late)... More

We were there for the annual Monte Rio Festival. This motel is very clean and cute - and within walking distance of the festival. Grounds are beautiful with river frontage - you can walk right down to the water - continental breakfast is simple but still good.

Located right in the Russian River, this inn is a throwback to simpler times when roadside inns were the perfect getaway for the family. The rooms are immaculate but a little dated and the breakfast is basic but you can't beat the ambiance or the service offered at this little gem.

It was rather late when we 'stumbled' onto this motel. And so we asked for the most reasonable room. I feel that the one we took deserved just 3 stars. The room was clean, but dated. The living/sleeping area was separated by the bathroom, which was very narrow and the shower was tiny. It was awkward for us.The bedroom area... More

Prior to our visit to San Francisco, and to unwind from 2 weeks and 1500 miles of driving, I booked 3 nights here having researched for suitable accommodation on the Internet. We had originally planned to stay in the Napa Valley but my partner had heard of this gay enclave - Russian River - so we thought we would support... More
