I was being surprised by my fiance and therefore did not have a part in planning our trip to Half Moon Bay. He chose the Farallone Inn because of its closeness to Half Moon Bay, its reasonable prices and the nicely appointed rooms, as seen in the photos. When driving up, I thought he was joking when he pointed out... more

While some things are a little outdated you have to be thrilled with the quiet come as you you wish and spacious and clean room you stay in. Sure the windows are single pane and it can get cold but you are surrounded by the beach and ocesn so DUH, what did you expect. This place is great, it's almost... more

I wonder if the panning reviews are written by those who have lost their sense of romanticism, or have never read a Steinbeck novel. After about 3 days, it begins to sneak up on you that Nina could have been a heroine out of one of his novels. It never really had occurred to me that Steinbeck could have been... more

The plan was for a romantic weekend on the coast for our 1 year anniversary in early February. Our days were filled with wonderful views and hiking trips and the extra special treat of walking nearly 1/4 mile into the sea during low tide. The smuggler's stew at the Moss Beach Distillery was well worth the $40 price tag. Then... more

Our family stayed here for 2 weeks while work was being done on our home. We have stayed in B&B's, chain hotels and motels in Hawaii, the Rockies, Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, Italy, France and Switzerland. There is an incredible amount of variablility to be found in room sizes, condition and friendliness of the staff. Over the years, we have... more

What you see on their website is not what you get at the hotel. Dirty, dirty, dirty old noisy rooms. It is outrageous that a place like this is allow to do business ! We booked there for our anniversary (150$ a night). As soon as we arrived it was clear to us that the place shown on internet was... more

This place wasn't as bad as some made it out to be. Sure, breakfast is just muffins, jam and butter, but at least there is tea and coffee. The front desk isn't overly friendly or helpful but got the job done. This place does allow pets and is in a great location between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay and very... more

I must agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviews and state that this place was a major disappointment. My husband is completely depressed at having booked a room without having read these reviews (though its website does indeed look very nice). We booked Penthouse #2 and our deck looked out onto an empty street. A side view had a less-than-lovely view... more

Many have said it already here, but this place completely lies about itself in its listings. Photos are from years ago, most likely under previous ownership. Dank, dark, and musty...another reviewer on [----] said it best with one word--Gorey-esque. Luckily, my husband refrained from telling me until we got home that there were 2 three to five inch slugs in... more

My boyfriend and I decided to go away for memorial day weekend and this looked like a wonderful little place. It was one of the inns listed as an entertainment card discount place. I think the entertainment people need to take remove this place from their site! This was the worst place ever! Bathroom First off the sliding door to... more
