Loved the history of this hotel, we took my daughter and son-in-law for their Anniversary they were visiting from Cor de luene Idaho, Food was excellent , service was great.. we had seating on the balcony... Would stay here too! and recommend! Nice swimming pool, surrounded by 100 + old large orange trees and a palm...

Hotel Leger is a real time machine - it takes you back to the Old West immediately. Their wine tasting room is the old jail, their saloon looks like it's just waiting for John Wayne to come in, the rooms have been decorated with classy antiques and of course there are the ghosts... If you like historic hotels, treat yourself... More

This is a darling hotel! The staff are friendly, the atmosphere rich, and the rooms ooze charm. The pool is well kept, the lobby welcoming, and the saloon is fun! The restaurant food has flair! Traditional and noveau, served with a friendly smile. I'll be back!

We moved to Valley Springs a year ago and that being said, there isn't much around here in the way of restaurants. The Grill here at the Leger hotel is delicious. We love the fish and chips but the burger (and it's presentation) is awesome; as is most of the food on the menu. Be sure to have the balsamic... More

This beautiful and historic hotel sits in a small, backwater town in the beautiful hills of Calaveras county. If you want to stay in a truly historic building with the chance of a supernatural occurrence, then I strongly recommend a visit here. We stayed in room 8 which had a slope to the floor and a large private, but separate,... More

Food & service in the restaurant were way above average. Bar has several brews on tap, including 2 of the best porters we've ever had. Doralee & her staff were very helpful. The location is excellent for driving to many classic gold rush towns, and wineries. The old bldg. is cool & we plan to return.

We stayed for a couple of nights, midweek, in November. Unfortunately most of the shops were closed midweek. Having said that, we had a wonderful time. Do not expect luxury accomodations when you visit. This is a historical piece of the gold country that is to be cherished. The rooms are filled with period furniture and are comfortable, warm and... In July, we had a large family gathering in Mokelumne Hill and most guests stayed at the Leger. We were very pleased with the rooms, the food at the restaurant, and above all, the customer service from the staff! It was outstanding! Some family members reported possible supernatural happenings - items moved from where they were originally left, unusual noises... More

The people who run and work in the hotel could not be nicer or more helpful. However, it needs millions of dollars poured into repairs. Our room was large and light-however-the carpets were filthy, there was no closet or hangers. Also, no clock, no TV-but it did have a two ft long gash in ceiling where water had been leaking...
