From the minute you drive up to this hotel you realise your are almost staying in a museum. You can feel the presence of the gold rush town inhabitants from 150 years ago. We had a warm greeting from Doralee and were shown to our superb room where nothing was level and we were invited to climb out of the... More

We went to the Hotel Leger for my daughter's 16th birthday weekend. It was amazing. We had 4 girls plus myself. Doralee was great and took fabulous care of us. The hotel is awesome and the service is above par. The restaurant was delicious and everyone was friendly. Loved the weekend! I highly recommend this hotel.

It has taken me a bit to write this but I feel I must. The hotel was an experience that can never be repeated anywhere else. We arrived later in the evening and had to be checked in by the bartender. A gentleman who I later found out to be the maintenance man was very engaging. Our room was well... More

My niece and I only stayed for one night (before going to Roaring Camp Mining Company), but the experience was wonderful. Our room #11 was exactly as shown on the hotel's website (right up to the towel swan on the bed). Considering the age of the hotel, the entire property was well maintained and clean. Upon request, we were given... More

Wow. After a 3-day motorbike road trip to Yosemite, I needed to rest someplace quiet and comfortable. Called from nearby San Andreas well after 11 pm to see if a room was available, and Charlie, the bartender, took care of my check-in with such a warm and welcoming way, even though I arrived at midnight. Slept soundly since no ghosts... More

We were a group of 10 and spread out into 4 of the rooms. There was balcony access from most of the rooms but we found ourselves sitting out by the pool playing games at night. The pool is very large and the outside area is nice. Wish they had more outdoor nighttime lighting though. We had to use our... More

Newer owner and staff are personable and real. Restaurant better than expected. Will seek cook out to discuss food next time I'm here. Ate here two nights in a row. Balsamic Fried Chicken appetizer is iconic, butternut squash ravioli with chicken and fettuccine Alfredo (with multiple options) were a favorite in our group, my pork was a bit over cooked... More

Not your usual hotel experience, but my visit was to focus on the past and history of the area and the Leger fit right in. Personality and charm, very personable staff, felt like home. The food in the dining room was excellent and very reasonably priced. If I return to the area I look forward to visiting the Leger again.

Gold rush history abounds. Ghosts of bygone days become the filter of the hotel's story. A kit in our room provided ghost sensing equipment which provided a few fun and anxiety producing adventures. Thankfully we never encountered a ghost but enjoyed the real hospitality of the innkeepers and enjoyed two wonderful dinners in the hotel restaurant. The hotel saloon is... More

We stayed here for a birthday weekend. the rooms are old as would be expected but huge amd very well kept, super clean. We had appetizers and dinner there two nights, loved every moment of it. The continental breakfast was best I've had. Doralee the owner is all over the place, seeing that the guests like their stay and asking... More
