The lodge was rustic, historic and just plain a laid back home base for hiking in Lassen NP. Breakfast (included in the price) was tasty and held us through good days of hiking. The owners' recommendations on trails, restaurants, and routes were spot on. Highly recommended!

It was a great stay overnight stay. I was concerned about the shared bath, but with a sink in the room, it was no problem. The breakfast was fantastic and the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We will go back!

Our plan to visit Mt Lassen was highlighted by our stay at St Bernard's Lodge. A very cosy place with wonderful Hosts. Jim cooked very delicious breakfasts and evening meals. It was lovely after our hike to sit on the sunny patio and later to enjoy a drink at the bar

We have a party of 5 couples who spent the 4th of July long weekend at the St. Bernard Lodge. It was a convenient location to visit various part of the Lassen Volcanic National Park. The food was awesome, both breakfast and dinner. We were also given many pointers to local attractions by Sharon. The only problem we had was... More

Thanks for staying with us over the 4th. Yes, our water heater was having problems and turning itself off. It was an on demand water heater which when working, works great and does not run out of hot water. We were finally able to get the company to replace with a new on demand water heater, So far it has... More

This place has a lot of character, room was clean, rustic but well done. The food was excellent both for dinner & breakfast! Note they do not staff a full time restaurant, they have a menu and dinner needs to be ordered ahead.

Sharon and Jim are great hosts. The decor is unique and historical.Breakfast is generous in preparation for a day at Mt Lassen, and the Bar is there for a relaxing drink before dinner. We love staying here every time we visit Mt Lassen.

The service was fantastic, the food was some of the best food I have ever had and the accommodations for us and our horses were great. Sharon was so helpful with directions of which trails to ride. I can't wait to return to explore more trails and enjoy this quiet place again..

Thanks Janet. Looking forward to having you back again next year with horses and friends that could not make it this year. The PCT is now clear of downed trees. More

This place has a lot of character and is not a cookie cutter experience. Interior is knotty pine and very warm and welcoming, as are the hosts. Feels like a European lodge with all it's charm but to get it you have to be willing to put up with some inconveniences, like communal bathrooms and walls that transmit sound. On... More

First, my bad for not reading the website more thoroughly before booking. This lodge has no private bathrooms. There are two bathrooms on the second floor shared by seven bedrooms (each has their own sink in the room). Again this was my bad for not reading the website more carefully. If I had realized this I would not have booked... More

Debbi, thank-you for taking the time to respond to my e-mail inquiry to you. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. It is hard to respond without sharing some of our correspondence after your stay. Major factor is that you would not have booked if you realized that all our rooms have shared bathrooms. Unfortunately there is... More

I stayed at this lodge with my boyfriend this summer. I had found it on this site, and overall the reviews seemed okay and it was within our budget so we gave it a go. Oh my, I am so glad we did. The interior was rustic yet rich and polished. The bar was lovely. Breakfast was good, coffee a... More
