We had a barn studio (family suite) and it was separate from the rest of the lodging with a separate drive in entrance which means you have to drive back onto the highway for about a minute before arriving. About 35mins driving distance from the Yosemite national park west entrance. A cozy and quiet barn studio with kitchenette and private... More

I booked a bed in a common room. Everything is clean and even though the room was full, I didn't have to wait even once for the shower, perfect. Staff is particularly kind and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped. I had a very nice stay at the Yosemite Bug for 3 nights. The price for one bed is low... More

My friend and I rented the Barn Studio for several nights. The studio reminded me of my grandmother's garage apartment. Dated and plain, but very cozy and comfortable. Since I was traveling with a male friend, we wanted to share lodging but have separate sleeping areas, and this studio fit the bill. For the price, amount of space, and proximity... More

After a huge day of hiking in Yosemite we wanted a hearty dinner on our way out of the park. The Yosemite Bug did not disappoint! Tucked up in the mountains off 140, this resort definitely has character. We wanted to stay here over MLK weekend but it was all booked up, so we just settled for dinner. The dining... More

I am just back from staying at yosemite bug, I had such a lovely time and this place throughly deserves my review: 1) This place is so much more than a hostel - It has private rooms that I stayed in with a bathroom next door only shared with one other room (doesnt even feel that you are sharing) 2)... Yes, you can choose a dorm bed and feel very much like you are in your average hostel. But, choose a room or a tent cabin and you are in for comfort beyond the usual definition of "hostel" in terms of decor, comfort. What sets this "hostel" above others: 1. Lovely Midpines setting one half hour from the world class... More

I stayed in a female dorm room and this was my first experience of hostelling in many years, however, my stay was fine. I managed to get a lower bunk which gave me lots of storage space under the bed. The rooms are in connecting huts with 6 people to each room, so anyone staying in the back dorm had... More

The Bugg is a treat to visit just for a meal., The food at the Bugg is excellent, fresh, wholesome, they have their own garden for some of their produce and organic when possible to obtain. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have home made deserts. It is a rustic but charming building, large open fire place,... More

I travelled solo, and stayed in a co-ed hostel room (which for me, as a young female was very off-putting) because the female rooms were all booked. The receptionist was very nice, she made sure I knew how to get to my room (I was given a map) and pointed out where the cafe was as well. My room was... More

The surroundings are gorgeous - you're right up a hill with trees and wildlife such as deer, which is lovely. Location itself is kind of far from main attractions but if you have a car it's easy, and there are also buses. Take note if you don't have your own car you will need to walk maybe 10 minutes uphill... More
