A friend and I (22, female) stayed at the Bug for four nights in September. Overall - great stay, clean dorms, great location. You defiantly get what you pay for. However, we did not have a good experience with the staff. They were strictly professional and provided the minimum service a staff member is expected to give. I came in... More

We rented the starlight house, the house is very large, it's all wood, and has all appliances. However, the rooms, bathrooms are not clean. Also towels are not very clean. Main disappointment the house is not located in same camp, it feels very remote and lonely.

We went on west coast trip, stayed in some 3 and 4 star hotels and this is the best place we stayed in! We would definitely return. We hired a cabin tent. There was 4 of us ( 1 adult and 3 teenagers ). The beds were comfortable. The place just has a good feel. Reception was very warm and... More

We arrived after a long day in Yosemite national park. We got checked in in our insulated tent, which turned out to be a wooden cabin with a tent over it on the outside. Also, the tent was not in the middle of the woods as we expected, but right next to the parking lot and next to the campfire... More

Please be aware - this is not a five star hotel, it's more like a posh hostel. So before you leave a review based on price, know this was the most reasonable we found anywhere nearby. They have great private cabins and spaces, but the overall feel is one of community. However, if you're looking for privacy, ask for one... More

The accommodation was a touch on the basic side - we stayed in dorms, and although not the best I've stayed in they were fine. There was some noise and the beds weren't that comfy, but after a decent days hike in Yosemite they were good enough. The real surprise of this place came in the form of the food... More

I stayed here on my solo roadtrip through West USA in September 2014. They offer 4-bed hostel dorms or private rooms. I stayed in a dorm. The dorm itself was very basic, just four beds, but it was clean and the beds were comfy! The bathrooms are not ensuite and while that doesn't matter, it was a shame that they... More

This place has everything from cabins to tents. Very cute little property. The restaurant and lounge was darling and the food was very good. Be advised no tvs or phones but you can play darts, board games or play a guitar. Loved the giant repurposed metal spiders on the property. Great artwork also.

The Bug is fantastic in every way - a unique hostel in incredible surroundings. The cafe serves fresh, homemade and excellent food. During our stay we delighted in the blueberry pancakes, vegetarian burritos, chocolate and raspberry cake, and fresh asparagus. On hot afternoons we visited the nearby natural water hole, and exploited the bottomless homemade lemonade in the cafe. The... More

What a nice resort close to Yosemite. We stayed in a tent and they were nice and clean. The communal area is really big. You have a self catering kitchen, but don't cook yourself. The food in the restaurant/bar is sooooo good and not expensive at all. It's really easy to meet fellow travellers. The staff is nice and helpfull.... More
