As a resident of Midpines I find the practices of the Yosemite Bug to be discriminatory and down right reprehensible towards the people who live here. They don't want locals, only tourists. But they use our water and advertize their entertainment, attempting to dry our community up. GO AWAY BAD BUG!

Overall we were very happy with our stay at the Bug. The location is perfect for a short drive in to Yosemite, with all the wonders there you can enjoy. We stayed in a private queen room with bath which was tastefully and charmingly decorated. The room was well appointed and the bathroom fine. The food here is absolutely worth... More

We stayed here whilst visiting Yosemite last month. It is certainly very 'rustic' but I wouldn't call it a resort! We stayed in one of the tent cabins, which was fine but very small and three steep flights of poorly-lit stairs from the nearest bathrooms - not much fun in the middle of the night! It is also very expensive... More

First the dorm: I slept in a coed 12 bed dorm with two showers and two toilets. One toilet flooded at one time. The thing that annoyed me the most was the lack of hot water in the showers. Sometimes there was hot water, but most of the time not. Not very nice after a day hiking, when all you... More

As hostels go, this takes some beating. It did all the basics well: efficient check-in, everywhere spotless, really well-thought-out facilities like the communal kitchen. On top of that, the food was truly excellent (though this costs extra), and the portions sizeable; there's a real quality spa with sauna and hot tub for $10, which was a bargain given how nicely... First of all, I need to say that I did enjoy my stay here. But I think it was mostly because I was on a holiday in a beautiful part of California. We booked tent cabins and while they are big enough and secure enough, they also look like nobody really cleans them. The floor and the bed was ok,... More

My name is Tracy Reeves. A year ago I started planning a family reunion. We needed a place that could accommodate a wide range of affordability, the Bug offered this.I was a little concerned, as a couple folks in our family tend to be a little finicky. We checked in on the 27th of July and checked out on the... More

We stayed in a tent cabin for one night on our way to the John Muir Trail and really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful - especially when I found our fan broken in the 90+ degree heat! They brought a brand new one to us in less than 20 minutes. We purchased dinner at the cafe and enjoyed... More

Simple restaurant with self-service but very delicous food, great choice of sandwiches, breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Fair prices, good quality. The place is located in a forest area. Sufficent parking in close proximity. No reservations are accepted

We found this hostel near highway 140 in the forests. Friendly reception staff. We got a small family room with 2 bunk beds, had shared restrooms etc. Actually quite nice to have a different experience and get again some camping feeling. Try it yourself, it's worth it!
