We arrived after a long day in Yosemite national park. We got checked in in our insulated tent, which turned out to be a wooden cabin with a tent over it on the outside. Also, the tent was not in the middle of the woods as we expected, but right next to the parking lot and next to the campfire... More

The accommodation was a touch on the basic side - we stayed in dorms, and although not the best I've stayed in they were fine. There was some noise and the beds weren't that comfy, but after a decent days hike in Yosemite they were good enough. The real surprise of this place came in the form of the food... More

I stayed here on my solo roadtrip through West USA in September 2014. They offer 4-bed hostel dorms or private rooms. I stayed in a dorm. The dorm itself was very basic, just four beds, but it was clean and the beds were comfy! The bathrooms are not ensuite and while that doesn't matter, it was a shame that they... More

This place has everything from cabins to tents. Very cute little property. The restaurant and lounge was darling and the food was very good. Be advised no tvs or phones but you can play darts, board games or play a guitar. Loved the giant repurposed metal spiders on the property. Great artwork also.

The Bug is fantastic in every way - a unique hostel in incredible surroundings. The cafe serves fresh, homemade and excellent food. During our stay we delighted in the blueberry pancakes, vegetarian burritos, chocolate and raspberry cake, and fresh asparagus. On hot afternoons we visited the nearby natural water hole, and exploited the bottomless homemade lemonade in the cafe. The... More

What a nice resort close to Yosemite. We stayed in a tent and they were nice and clean. The communal area is really big. You have a self catering kitchen, but don't cook yourself. The food in the restaurant/bar is sooooo good and not expensive at all. It's really easy to meet fellow travellers. The staff is nice and helpfull.... More

Meals are not provided. However, the cafe serve up great meals at reasonable prices! We took up a private cabin room for two and its absolutely amazing! Room really resembles a scene out of 1920s. Very rustic indeed. We had the fortune of star and moon gazing on a hammock near the cafe too. Hot water was adequate but it... More

The Yosemite Bug has so much potential. It’s got a great atmosphere, great tasting food in its café, and a pretty good location relative to Yosemite. Unfortunately, they are missing the mark in a few areas, at least for the type of travel I (and I think most families) like to do. We stayed at the Starlight house for 4... More

The Yosemite bug is a hotel, hostel & campground all in one, depending on how you want to stay (and how much you want to pay). We stayed in the "tent cabins" and they were serviceable enough, but they were really far away from the bathroom building. There was not enough parking, as the parking lot was completely full when... We stayed in the cheapest option, the tent. However we throughly enjoyed the 'glamping' experience. The staff were super friendly and refunded us the first night as we missed the last bus to yosemite and had to spend the night in a motel in Merced. The YART bus into yosemite wasn't reliable and would sometimes never show up and took... More
