In spite of being on the edge of town if one is headed for Yosemite, we found only a dozen cars there. It lacked a luggage rack and linens were just "adequate". It was clean with the usual micro and fridge and did have a good overhead fan. It seems that the major portion of town is located 2 freeway...

We got caught that we hadn't booked any accommodation near Yosemite and we ended up driving here, about 2 hours from the park. We had checked in Mariposa and it was all booked out, but the lady in Best Western there allowed us to use the internet in her lobby to look for hotel in Merced.
Lucky we did because...

I chose this TraveLodge since it was not on Highway 99 which has constant road noise all night. This TraveLodge is on State Route 140 (the road to Yosemite) about 1000 feet east of Highway 99. AAA rates this TraveLodge two diamonds but there may be a catch here.

At the outset, the room seemed to be adequate and at a good price. However, upon finding bedbugs in our bed several hours after trying to unsuccessfully sleep, we became less impressed with our accommodations.
On the bright side, our call to the front desk was promptly answered, despite the 2:30 am time and a new room key was provided....

Needed a cheap place to stay while visiting the parks so I ended up here. It's okay... One and two story buildings. Motel room door faces the parking lot. Clean towels, average carpet, good tv with cable, just a walk in shower, very old microwave(they should throw it away, makes the room look dirty) small refrig..bed is comfortable. paid $50...

Stayed for one night after spending time in Yosemite. Was very disappointed with the Merced area around hotel. Nothing was open and when driving in town noticed there was no one around and a lot of stores were boarded up. Hotel room itself was average. Clean but very noisy AC and horrible towels. Had a refrigerator. Served purpose for one...

We're from Holland and made a roadtrip along the westcoast. We were just heading back from Yosemite to San Francisco and made a stop over in Merced.
The people at the front desk are very kind and helpfull. Rooms have enough space and are clean.
The rooms have a shower instead of a bath and that's nice, cause we won't...

clean room, avarage service and nothing to complain. This place is perfect for a one night stop while going in or out of Yosemite. It was a good price, too. Don't expect a lot in breakfast, just coffee and muffins.

My family stayed in this motel on July 3 and left the morning of the 4th. There were 4 of us staying. We went in the pool and asked for extra towels. They did not want to give us any. They finally gave us 4 towels. The next morning when we wanted to shower we asked for extra towels and...
