Stayed three nights at the Hampton Inn. The rooms were nice with a very comfortable bed, nice amenities - lotions, etc. Coffee pot. Breakfast was good with eggs cereals, etc. I had a room on the back side of the hotel away from the train tracks and the highway; however, there is construction going on behind the hotel, so don't think of sleeping late until the building is completed The only problem we had was with the desk clerks. Some of them seemed to not have a clue about what was going on. There was a large group of us (pretty much took up the whole hotel) and we were trying to get come connecting rooms - just couldn't get it done!!
If I ever go back to Merced I would certainly choose this hotel!
