Cancelled a reservation at the Best Western down the street and I think I made a big mistake. Sure the place looks nicer than the Best western, but the price was higher also. I stayed for three nights while on a business trip. This is one of the nicer of the smaller Courtyards (smaller ones tend not to have on-site restaurants). Everything was fresh, clean, and all in good working order. Staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful. The room was also always clean and in good working order. Nice, comfortable bed.... more

Very nice hotel, great staff. They let me check in very early and also gave me a room with a very large balcony. I don't think all rooms have balconies and granted it overlooks the highway, but a very spacious area and it was nice to have the sliding glass door and the option to go outside. What a nice hotel for Merced. Very well appointed - nice decor in lobby and the rooms are tastefully decorated. All very contemporary and what would be expected of a Westin or boutique hotel. We travel to Merced occasionally and have stayed at most of the "nicer" hotels, which have generally been disappointing. Very attractive property. Lobby and breakfast area nice. Room, new in appearance and comfortable. Breakfast which happened to be included in my rate was quite good. In Central California you are often near the railroad. I find that the room fan is usually enough to ease the problem. I travel a lot and find that ear plugs are of value.... more

At last Merced has an excellent hotel for families and business travelers. Yosemite is close by via Mariposa. Meeting rooms are adequate. A Carrels is within walking distance. Lobby is attractive with a business center. The lobby has free WiFi (no security though) and the rooms have wired ethernet so security is vastly improved. Nice clean hotel with nice rooms and a coffee maker. It's a little noisy, could hear the train at night and highway noise. It does not offer the free buffet breakfast that a lot of other courtyard's offer. They do have a buffet breakfast though for about $8 and change. more
