This is a very nice hotel with beautiful, but small grounds. The furnishings in this hotel are very, very tasteful and all in very, good shape. Not a bit of wear and tear on anything in this hotel. The decor is very "traditional", reminds me of a Washington DC hotel, a bit on the formal side and probably appeals to... more

Great hotel. Clean, friendly, comfortable. Was concerned about previous posting that gave it a single star, but I couldn't find anything wrong. There is a nice shopping center across the street, complete with Bloomingdales & Nordstroms. Lots a places to eat. We found a few trails to walk on. Highly recommend this hotel! more

It is a complete mystery to me how anyone could like this hotel. I have been here several times on business, and I always leave unimpressed (on a good day) or fuming (on a bad one). The chintzy rooms and lobby -- which look like they were modeled on an early '90s Westchester tavern -- badly need refurbishing. The carpet... more

This is probably the most caring mid-peninsula hotel in the Bay Area. It's very well-managed and always relaxing--not to mention an excellent cuisine which only gets better every year. We stay here at least once a year and always wonder why we don't come back more often.... more

I enjoyed my two-night stay here. I was a little concerned reading other reviews about the trains/noise, but my room overlooked the main entrance to the hotel and I never heard any train noise, despite the fact that the tracks do indeed run right by the hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, always calling me by name. My... more

I normally stay at a different hotel very nearby, but had to stay here for client realted reasons. I was very impressed and this will now be my preferred hotel for the area. My flight was very delayed (I arrived at about 4:30 am) and the staff was up and very helpful and my room had not been given away... more

I recently stayed at the hotel for two nights during a business trip. I felt the hotel was upscale and elegant, but in a modern (somewhat "hip") way. The location and grounds are beautiful. Let me comment on the following: *Rooms: The rooms are very nice and reasonably spacious. I travel often and was more comfortable than normal. I liked... more

First impressions of this hotel are favorable. The hotel is undoubtedly elegant and makes a great first impression. When I arrived late in the evening, the exterior was lit with subdued lighting and I was looking forward to a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and courteous, but in that faux way typical of Californian hotels, lots of smiles and... more

From the moment we entered the driveway of the hotel with it's beautiful fountain and quaint garden setting, I could tell we were in for a peaceful and enjoyable stay. We were welcomed with smiles by the hotel doormen who also provides guest with complimentary valet parking as requested. As we entered the quiet hotel lobby, a warm fire was... more
