I don't think this hotel (motel?) aspires to be or to offer anything special and that's fair enough. The room was perfectly OK without being remarkable in any way, the reception fairly efficient though rather distant and unwelcoming, the location convenient for much that is in the neighborhood, and it was easy to find. The breakfast, however, was minimalist and... More

As a general rule the reasonably priced hotels along El Camino in the Palo Alto area are modest at best and the worst ones are real dumps. This is one of the better choices. It it only a mile and half from Stanford. The rooms are clean, modern, secure, and quiet though you can occasionally hear the commuter train a... More

For $233.02 for a Monday night, this place was way overpriced. It is a mid-20th century motel and not at all close to Stanford University as pictured on their website. Beware and find other places that are closer to all the dining and shopping activitity in the area.

A very nice place, far from confusion, but with easy reachable Palo Alto downtown and all the amenities there. The bedrooms are great and well equipped. The breakfast a bit poor, but the price is overall ok.

We visit this area frequently & have tried almost all of the hotels in this price range. Red Cottage is the best for sleeping comfort with excellent beds and quiet location (love that there is no room overhead!) plus it's located within walking distance of fabulous restaurants and good shopping. In your car it's close to everything in the area.... More

Chose this hotel after I read a review that the original hotel I booked had some safety issues regarding its location. This was better priced and conveniently located right on El Camino Real. Parking was free in the outside lot. Front desk was available 24-hours and breakfast was free every morning. My colleague's room was smaller than mine and was... More

We had a family emergency and needed a place near Stanford Hospital. From the beginning, they were very helpful in getting my family situated. The Inn is away from the main road but only a block away from the grocery store. Rooms are nice, clean, modern, with a keurig, microwave, and small fridge. Some of the rooms have a small... More

This is our second stay here and we absolutely love it. This place is a hidden gem. It's off away from the road and its quiet and relaxing. We haven't been disappointed with this place. As we checked in the staff is always courteous and the rooms are very well maintained and cleaned. They have a wonderful sitting area where... More

Stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of August with 2 adults & 1 child in a Premium Double Room. I found this Inn on tripadvisor while searching for a place that was in close proximity to Stanford University, with a breakfast included and that was reasonably priced. I am so happy that I found this place as it... More

If you're looking for lodging in a garden setting, this is the place. Well off El Camino Real, it is quiet and restful. Check-in was unrushed and efficient. The room spacious and well equipped. The only odd offering was the shower head in the walk-in shower...it didn't point in the most convenient direction. Breakfast was less than the usual fare,... More
