This is a straightforward motel with good average accommodation, but in no way luxurious. The location is good, a little way back from the busy Camino Real. A fairly basic breakfast but with good cereal. The rate we were charged was not justified by the accommodation and breakfast

I had given this hotel a high rating previously, but I am downgrading it since they have more than doubled their rates, putting it well out of my price range, even with a AAA discount. I don't know if they are under new ownership, or have just gotten greedy. I won't be staying here anymore.

Stayed one night in July. Rooms were tidy & well appointed if smallish in size. I was upgraded to a suite which was very spacious, but with rel. little privacy in living area as this faced straight into pool area do folks taking a dip stared straight into the living area. Service was good. Room was clean although I was... More

I stayed at the Red Cottage Inn and Suites for work and found it to be more than adequate! The room was spacious for one person and had a nice sized refrigerator and coffee maker. It was very comfortable and the free breakfast provided was all I needed. Protein such as boiled eggs and yogurt were available as well as... More

This older motel has been well maintained. Grounds are nicely landscaped with a sweet courtyard. Rooms are small but acceptable. Pet friendly. Nice staff. They don't charge for parking, which is a plus. Biggest drawback is a commuter train just blocks away, which rumbles by until 10 pm.

I stayed here for 5 nights and was pleasantly surprised. The property was lovely, room was larger than expected, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I arrived quite early from the east coast and was able to check in very early, which was extremely convenient. The breakfast was much better than the usual continental. The wifi was good... More

We stayed here 4 nights May 2015. Very quiet peaceful inn. Nice swimming pool. Small exercise room that is perfectly adequate with treadmill, horizontal bicycle and step machine. Very nice staff. No complaints at all. For quietest rooms, ask for upstairs, facing pool near back. Microwave, fridge and coffee machine in room. Hot water and fruit 24/7 in lobby. Average... More

Stayed 2 nights over Passover/Easter weekend while visiting my brother in Menlo Park. The lower rooms have two full sized beds and upstairs have king beds. Lower level rooms have an outdoor deck with a little table and two chairs. Very charming. There is a fireplace and chairs for all to share outside as well as a pool. The hotel... More

An above average choice for business travelers in Menlo. Don't be fooled (as I initially was) by the old fashioned appearance of this circa-1960s looking motel. This book should not be judged by its cover! The rooms are small but loaded with amenities and clean as a whistle. Updated mini-kitchen with refrigerator and coffee maker, and tile bath stocked with... More

I love staying at this hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms, free breakfast, parking and wi-fi and management that appreciates your business. The Red Cottage Inn is an Oasis in the midst of an area in which the other hotels Hotels are all so expensive and tend to nickel and dime you for everything. The only things I don't like are the...
