I was visiting SLAC so it was the best place in terms of the location. The room was small but comfortable. The breakfast was very simple and I tried it only once and decided to find something outside. Plus is that you can use coffee machine with good coffee for free and any time. You need a car to go... Stayed here while attending a course at Stanford University. (You have to have some kind of relation to the university to book here.) The acces to the guesthouse is rather speciel as you have to pass through security at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. That is also what makes this place speciel. You can't get acces to the Accelerator, but... More

While this is a good hour walk (15 minute shuttle) to the main campus, it's definitely all about serving Stanford. But then, so is most of Palo Alto. Pros: Good breakfast (big pot of oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, fruit, etc.), excellent laundry and vending machines, newer finishes, clean, modest but decent selection of cardio machines. Cons: You need to pass... More

The Stanford Guest House is a really great place to stay while spending time on the Stanford campus. The rooms are small, but give off more of a cozy feeling than a tight one. The aesthetics are very modern and somewhat simplistic. There is complimentary DISH Network, an upright shower rather than a tub, an iron w/ ironing board, hair... More

It is a good choice for those with business in Stanford (University, Medical Center, SLAC conferences, etc) - good service, clean rooms, quiet area, and a reasonably fine breakfast. The staff is extremely helpful and even provide a shuttle service to the Shopping Center. Good value for the money.

I just stayed here for two nights while attending a conference at Stanford. The rooms are quite small. I don't think I've ever seen a smaller hotel room. Basically, the room has a bed, desk, and a cabinet that serves as a closet. The bathroom is small and the corner shower area is not ideal. The fitness room is very... More

The rooms are small but clean with everything needed for a business stay. The hotel is minimalist giving visitors only what is really needed. No frills but everything is well-kept, clean, pleasant. Wonderful outdoor space for breakfast (I lucked out on great weather!). Always a need to show ID as the property is on a government site. I would recommend... More

My teen son and I had 4 nights in Palo Alto and opted to stay in the guest house which proved to be the best kept secret if you do not need the syrupy smiles of the chain hotel hosts. Location is secure, parking is safe and well lit at night, you enter through the SLAC gatehouse. I did not... More

As far as Palo Alto goes, this must be about the most basic place there is. But also the cheapest. I was at a conference at Stanford and it worked out wonderfully, and I would not hesitate to stay there again if I were at something affiliated with Stanford (a "normal" person can't just stay there. You need to be... More

My daughter and myself was attending a conference at the university. We stayed for two nights in a single room. The room was very clean and well maintained. So was the tiny bathroom. I was presently surprised to find and Ironing board with Iron, a hair dryer a very clean sheets and towels. There are microwaves and refrigerators in the... More
