I would definitely stay at the Stanford Guest House again. The room was super quiet and comfortable, but very small (I had read some of the reviews that said the rooms were small, and I would definitely agree; I think it's fine for one person, but with two it might be a bit crowded). The view was pretty nice. The... More

I spent five nights at the Stanford Guest House while attending a nearby conference. It was a great hotel: clean, decently-well appointed (I didn't find it as austere as other reviewers), and at a perfect price. The complementary breakfast was good, the shuttle service into Palo Alto really useful, and the Marguerite shuttle provided great connections into the university and... More

As noted by other reviewers, rooms (1 queen) are very small. But they are nicely furnished with excellent bed linens and a very comfortable bed and perfectly fine for one person. The space would be too cramped for two. The hotel itself is a bit out of the way but the new Starbucks in the parking lot helps. Breakfast is... More

So first of all, you have to be affiliated with Stanford in order to stay here-- alumni, parents of a current student, patient at Stanford hospital, etc. If you need to visit the Stanford campus for any reason, this is the best priced hotel close to campus. The shuttle even picks up at the hotel and goes to campus, but... More

This hotel on the grounds of SLAC is a no-frills, basic accomodations enterprise. The cost is much lower than many basic motels in the Stanford area. Each morning they provide a simple breakfast of fruit, hard boiled eggs,an assortment of breads/muffins, and oatmeal. The rooms are clean. The pre-fab showers in the corner of the bathroom were a little off-putting... More

I stay here when visiting SLAC. It's very convenient when visiting the lab. The accommodation is pretty basic, the rooms are small but have all you need. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is simple but adequate. Now there is a starbucks just outside, decent coffee is available. The complimentary mints are very moorish!

To sum it up, 1) Don't expect a luxury hotel chain, but it's a basic nice-and-clean hotel serving Stanford community with free shuttle bus to the campus and hospital, w/ breakfast, and wi-fi included. (You must have Stanford affiliation in order to stay there.) 2) It's located inside the famous SLAC - quiet and secured. 3) Good value for the... More

The Guest House is your basic bare-bones accommodation. The rooms are very dorm-like: tiny and austere. I literally got a bit claustrophobic and had to go out as much as possible. The bathroom is likewise small, with a cruise-ship-like corner shower that doesn't afford enough room to turn around. Overall very tidy, clean, and perfectly suitable if you can't find... More

The lodging venue is exceptional with incredible security, professional staff principals, proficient and friendly housekeeping services with access to Stanford University and the Medical Center. The rooms are very well maintained - bedding and furniture are immaculate; there are never stray marks on the wall or unkept carperting, window coverings, etc. The 24 hour industrial gourmet coffee machine equates to... I was visiting SLAC so it was the best place in terms of the location. The room was small but comfortable. The breakfast was very simple and I tried it only once and decided to find something outside. Plus is that you can use coffee machine with good coffee for free and any time. You need a car to go...
