Just spent a week at the Rosewood Sand Hill. Beautiful grounds and pool, huge well-appointed room, nice spa and fitness center. Good vibe, great meal at Michelin-starred Madera restaurant. By contrast to the relatively laid back experience overall, the bar scene was pretty wild -- great people watching for those of us who stumbled across the infamous Thursday "Cougar Night,"... More

Yes the rooms are comfortable, but - the bath tub didn't drain, no captions on TVs or athletic equipment, many rooms overlook gravel, construction, or a parking lot; and the minute you set foot outside on your balcony you hear not birds, but all the traffic from the 6 lanes of Highway 280 immediately adjacent to the grounds. Yes the... More

Stayed here for one evening while on business in Silicon Valley. It is a short drive to Stanford and close to main street Palo Alto. If you are looking for a high end hotel this is a very nice one. The staff are very good, welcoming, focused, listen quite well, and willing to walk you to whatever you need on... More

Best place to stay in the Palo Alto area from a service perspective. They take great care of you. Rooms are huge, if uninspired from a decor perspective. The biggest downside to Rosewood is the location -- it's close for meetings and clients located nearby, but terrible for taking a walk around town, grabbing a quick bite away from the... More

Stayed here for business multiple times, and I've always been satisfied. I especially enjoy the restaurant and bar at the hotel. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The location of the hotel makes getting to meetings on the other side of Sand Hill Road very easy.

Stayed three nights in a luxury suite in this suburban upscale property. Room was warm and comfortable, with irresistible gas-lit fireplace in the living room. Bed was extraordinarily comfortable. Bathroom and shower were fine, though shampoo accessories were largely unusable due to non-functioning pump dispensers. Tasteful, elegant grounds, and an outstanding restaurant (Madera). Service from all staff was extremely prompt,... More

If you are in the Palo Alto area looking for a tremendous hotel, whether on a family trip to visit Stanford, or here for business/leisure, I am not sure this Rosewood lives up to my expectations of what I hoped for in a 5-star/Cadillac resort like the Rosewood is known for. To start, the rooms look no better than a... More

This review is for the Alex Chases Salon at the Rosewood hotel. The salon is a beautiful, open and modern space. It is seperate from Sense Spa so you can gossip as loud as you want with your hairstylist. My haristylist was Elaine and she was so awesome and nice. I left the salon feeling like a celebrity!

Stayed here a few times. Always great. Convenient location off 280 vs having to deal with traffic through Palo Alto. If you are doing business in Sand Hill/Palo Alto area or visiting Stanford, best place in the area to stay.

You would expect that a hotel near a great university, next door to a Linear Accelerator, bordered by the 280 Freeway in less than scenic Menlo Park, would be moderately good, but never great. The Rosewood Sand Hill is great in virtually every respect. The rooms are excellent: spacious, intelligently furnished, with first rate amenities like multi-channeled flat screens, iPod... More
