So you are supposed to say what you liked and didn't like. Its gonna be hard to find what we didn't like. I suppose I could complain about the foggy weather in summer, or the somewhat preachy exhortations in the Inns newsletter/guide to the Inn, regarding its Vegan approach to food (which I found educational and actually, not unfairly preachy).... We stayed in a ground floor room, which had very convent access to the parking lot. The view was quite beautiful from our room, but if you plan on sitting on the patio (as opposed to standing to look over the railing) to enjoy the view, I would recommend the top floor. I was pleasantly surprised at the privacy of... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights on an eight night road trip. We loved everything about our experience. We stayed in one of the cottages, a short stroll through beautiful gardens from the main buildings. The cottage was very cute and romantic. Between the two of us, over three days, we tried six different vegan entrees for... More

To quote Stefan (Bill Haidar's character) from SNL: "This place has it all!" The setting is excellent with plenty of room to walk around and beautifully kept grounds and gardens to walk around in. Parking is convenient and secure. There are a couple of different buildings spread out from one another so you never get the sense of being crowded.... More

My husband and I and our two girls were heading back to California from Oregon. We wanted to check out the Mendocino area on our way back toward the Central Coast where we live. I called many places and was unable to find any availability, which is not surprising since it is the height of the summer tourism season. The... More

DOG FRIENDLY! Wonderful indoor pool, spa and magnificent grounds. Vegan food was less interesting than I expected. Excellent service. Complimentary dessert each afternoon and complimentary breakfast each morning. Fireplace in rooms.

My husband and I recently spent two nights at Stanford Inn, and we enjoyed every minute. Our room was on the second floor, and the balcony overlooked the beautiful grounds and ocean. The decor and ambiance were very rustic and homey. We loved being able to enjoy a fire both nights, and hear crickets and birds out of window. We... More

I really wanted to love this place - I am an avid home gardener - but I was disappointed. The grounds/gardens are just okay. I almost paid $50 for a lesson with the gardener, but didn't bother once I strolled around. (I once visited the gardens of Julia Child's restaurant in Napa, Copia - now closed - and they blew... We're so sorry to hear your Mendocino experience was not to your satisfaction. We take pride in our grounds and historic farm, which provides a significant amount of produce to our restaurant each year. We take great pains to ensure the sustainable model of the entire inn while providing a great experience to vegans and non-vegans (in fact, substantially more... More
