Loved this place!! It's minutes from town, but not in town which makes a difference to me. We had a king suite with a wood burning fireplace. It was a foggy weekend so made for cozy evenings. The sheets were soft and creamy, really fun to the touch. Our deck was totally private( on the ground floor). It's pet friendly... More

This place appeals to eco libs that can eat klingon food without eggs or dairy products. Nice room but restaurant staff have an attitude. Come here for unattractive women and dudes wearing make up. And everything has a price tag so you feel like you are in a Barnes & Noble for lotus blossom inhalers.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Stanford in, especially the cycling along the river. Our room was nice and the grounds are fun to walk around. They have charging stations for your electric car and the food in the restaurant is vegan (there are lots of good seafood places in town if vegan is not for you). They have... More

I would actually give this 3.5 stars. We booked here because it was one of the last rooms available in town. At over $400 per night, the room and service missed the mark. The approach to the inn is gorgeous, with beautiful gardens and a farm/lodge feel. We had a lovely bartender who served us champagne on their ocean view... More

My husband and I splurged on two nights at the Stanford Inn for a getaway from SF for my birthday last summer, and we both loved our stay. While neither of us is a vegetarian and we hadn't necessarily sought out the health-focused aspects of the Inn as much as we'd been looking for somewhere relaxing and indulgent, the quiet... More

Absolutely loved this resort. It’s technically located in Mendocino, but is actually a brief (two minutes, tops) drive from “downtown.” You could walk, but Hwy 1 is busy and a bit terrifying to cross, so I wouldn’t recommend it. While I thought staying outside of town would be slightly annoying, Stanford Inn feels like a total oasis. The gardens and... More

Everything at the Stanford Inn by the Sea is set up to relax and calm you. The rooms are like an upscale cabin with knotty pine walls and a wood burning fireplace. The grounds are gorgeous with a working garden and orchard, beautiful flowers and a pond where the Canadian geese liked to congregate. The indoor heated pool house was... More

We stayed as a family of 4+dog in one of the suites. The food was terrific and they adapted menu items for our kids. We spent time in the poolhouse which is very cool and indulged in a massage. Our favorite activity was paddling down the river and going into town for caramel covered apples. The animals on the inn... More

The grounds of the Inn are beautiful and peaceful and only a short drive into Mendocino or Fort Bragg. Rooms are nice but nothing extraordinary. Pool looked bigger on-line than it was in person but the hours are good and the kids enjoyed it. As a retreat we were expecting more trails available on-site. A nice place to stay but... More
