We booked five rooms at the Stanford Inn to celebrate a 60th anniversary (no children - all adults). The location is spectacular. The service, particularly the front desk, aloof and cold. We received harassing phone calls about guests smoking at the Inn during our stay and were threatened with a $400.00 fee if the Inn found a cigarette butt near or around our room whether we are responsible or not! Blatant and open discrimination against smokers but they do encourage pets and wood burning fireplaces in each room.... Great place for... more

If falling asleep at the sound of a crackling fire does not appeal to you, then probably this is not your hotel. Big money, but it delivers - awesome view, friendly staff (ask them for just anything!), amazing location, lots of fun amenities, plus the essential (good coffee in the room).
