The well named Sea Breeze room is the BEST place to take an afternoon nap ever. With windows and deck door open the breeze and waves completely lull one to sleep. Hosts Eric and Elaine kindly left us a complimentary split of wine which when combined with the fine weather and view of the garden with the beach beyond made... more

This was our first trip to Mendocino and I am so glad that we were lucky enough to have this experience at alegria inn. We stayed in the cove cottage for 2 nights. I think one of the best things about the cottage was the little touches put into the decoration and even the function of the room. There was... more

We stayed at Alegria late last year and just loved it. It is in a spectacular setting. The staff were very friendly -- one of them waited until late at night to personally let us in to our room even though we were very late. We stayed in Driftwood, which is such a cool little cottage with a lot of... more

My husband and I recently stayed in the Bel Canto Suite. It was very nice. There were a few nicks in the paint on the walls as other reviewers mentioned but we didn't mind. There was no TV, which was okay with us. Service by the staff was great. The shower had lots of water pressure, too, which I like.... more

My husband and I stayed in one of the lower priced rooms at this inn over between Christmas and New Year's 2007. Our room was across the street from the lovely view that is touted by other reviewers, which was ok for the price. However, we were told in no uncertain terms that we were not allowed to use the... more

We stayed here the week after the big storm in early January. Power had been out in Mendocino village up until the day before we arrived, and was still out for many of the local residents while we were here. While the Mendocino coast in winter isn't going to appeal to everyone due to the frequent rainy, stormy weather, we... more

We've visited Mendocino several times and this was hands down our favorite place to stay. The owners, Eric and Elaine, are extraordinarily hospitable and gracious. They were welcoming without being intrusive. You can tell they really enjoy running and maintaining the inn. The property is right on the cliff above the beach and most rooms have great views. There is... more

When you stay in Mendocino this is one of the few Inns right on the Ocean, and what a view! We stayed in the Pacific room up stairs, with a deck overlooking where the Mouth of the Big river meets the ocean. We stayed in May so the inn's garden was in full bloom. Eric and Elaine where great hosts,... more

This smal, well-reviewed inn didn't disappoint! Stayed in Pacific Suite ($259 a weeknight - $279 weekends/high season) Cove Cottage and Breeze were also very attractive, probably wouldn't consider the other rooms. Right in Mendocino Village with great ocean view from table in bay window (had dinner there one night) - own deck is right outside. All amenities - micro, refrigerator,... more

We have stayed at this inn a few years back and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was still as wonderful. We stayed in Driftwood, which is a great suite. It is not on the main reservation page as it is generally used for long term rentals. You would have to call and ask. Other than Cove Cottage, it... more
