We visited the Blue Door Inn in the beginning of May. The house is gorgeous - nothing frilly here. All contemporary, white, neutrals and bright. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in out of the 4 hotels we stayed at during our trip. The marble bathroom was beautiful and the shower amazing. Steve greeted us and couldn't have... More

Just got back from a trip to Northern California. Stayed at the Blue Door Inn for 3 nights, and had such a wonderful stay! Stephen is so hospitable, and what a chef! Amazing 2 course breakfasts with divine coffee and fresh orange juice every day. I can't even begin to describe how good the food was. Wine and snacks every... More

We came to stay for two nights, ended up staying for three. What a beautiful place! The bed, the gas fire, the amazing breafasts, the complimentary wine and snacks in the livingroom in the afternoon, Steven's friendliness... did I mentiom the luxury dressinggowns? When we come back, guess where we'll stay?

We stayed at the Blue Door in the middle of the week after a scenic drive up Highway 1 from San Francisco. Jas welcomed us with a smile and a thick Scottish accent. Our first observation was that this is not your typical B and B: the furnishings are contemporary and the color scheme is muted shades of beige. Our... More

The Blue Door Inn was one our favorite spots we stayed on our road trip from Seattle, WA to Laguna Beach, along Highway 1. This was was recently renovated and they did an incredible job. If you're looking for something quaint and cozy, but with a modern, elegant spin, this spot is perfect. The inn-keeper was friendly, the room was... More

Quaint, finely decorated and very clean. The afternoon offerings with wine were a bit meager, just assorted pickles, however the breakfast was incredible. The day we were there there breakfast included a warm poached pear in a chinese 5 spice sauce, and second course was a poached egg on puffed pastry with mushrooms, leeks, ham and cheese. Romantic and close... More

After reading reviews and pouring over the gorgeous photos of this place we were certainly not disappointed. Stephen was so warm & welcoming yet discreet and his breakfast was the most divine we have ever had. The Sandringham room was so tastefully decorated and we loved sitting in the lounge each evening beside the fire enjoying complimentary wine & nibbles.... More

We stayed at the Blue Door Inn from 11/19-11/21/2012 and even though we caught 2 very rainy days in Mendocino we truly enjoyed our stay thanks to this wonderful B&B. The interior design is fantastic in every aspect. It is modern, minimalistic and yet very comfortable and romantic. It's the little details here and there that make a big difference,... More

Re-modeled this is a very nice property smack in the middle of Mendocino so you can park your car and walk to shops, restaurants and walking trails. The living room area is a wonderful setting to read the paper in the morning or sip some wine in the afternoon. Breakfasts are to be expected good at any B & B... More

We had a problem, and Steve was so wonderful to give us a chance to reserve his inn at another time. He was very caring and made a bad situation better. Thank you! Can't wait to visit your beautiful place.
