The Mendocino Hotel is a woderfully historic hotel located in the most beautiful of settings. The peaceful community that surrounds this lovely hotel is filled with a tremendous amount of history, art and breath taking views. The staff at the Mendocino Hotel are very courteous and knowledgeable, and always willing to help in any way. Thank you to the owners/... more

Upon arrivial, the reception staff would not attend to us until she finished counting money .....in only went down from there. The small cramped room was not unexpected, but the paper thin walls were. We could literally hear everything that was being said in the adjoining rooms as well as the music from the lobby. Not too horrible the first... more

We loved the location--on the coast, overlooking the ocean, downtown, with the beach 500 yards away. The nice fireplace in the large parlor was inviting, as was the expensive restaurant. The room was small, no amenities, small bathroom, sink in the room. We could step out onto a public balcony, thus little privacy. The room was $200 per night, and... more

I just spent one night here with my husband. We drove into town with no place to stay and this was the first place we came across. We only paid $100 for the room which was a bargain and actually this was with paying extra for an in-room bathroom. The room was clean and nicely decorated, but absolutely miniature. Our... more

I stayed at this fantastic hotel looking over the Pacific Ocean for my 30th anniversary of marriage. Room was great and very romantic. I really had a wonderful and romantic time at this hotel with my wife. All hotel staffs were very kind and well trained. Food was just scrumptious and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel for special and... more

This hotel is really beautiful. When we pulled up after a long trip, I was very excited. However our very luke warm reception dulled my enthusiasm. We did not get told about any of the facilities such as when bar/restaurant was open until, and were offered no help with luggage. We then went and asked for a table in the... more

As President of the Santa Rosa Wine Club we were looking for a place to have our Winemaker's dinner on our trip to Mendocino. On a preview trip we met sales manager Jamie Buckner and the owner, Tom Kravis. They put together a fantastic menu for our discerning group of 30. We arrived on Saturday night and were treated to... more

19th Century Charm. Does that tell you something? It should. We are grizzled veterans of the road and know what to expect when the digs are described as "Historic". This is a standout Hotel that is a true antique. Modernized (somewhat) antiqued (everywhere) and popular (with some). Miraculously overpriced rooms. Most share a bath down the hall, usually a 3/4... more

My family stopped at the Mendocino Inn for a light dinner meal eating off of the Bistro Menu in the general lobby area. The general policy of eating off of the Bistro menu is that you seat yourself at one of the quaint antique tables in the lobby area (it is actually better than it sounds). We waited and waited... more

We arrived in Mendocino late at night without reservations for a room. The friendly folks at a neighborhood bar called the Mendocino Hotel for us and we drove right over (could've walked except for our luggage!) The night clerk was very friendly and accomodating; the interior design and premises were absolutely gorgeous; and in the morning we were treated to... more
