We were driving through Mendocino on Route 1 and needed a place to stay. We weren't intending to stay in Mendocino but when we saw the Casper cottage we couldn't say no. It was private (we had our own key and parking right in front of the door), the featherbed was luxuriously comfortable, we had a real fireplace, and the... More

From the front porch we could look across the flower filled garden to the Pacific ocean shimmering in the sunlight. We stayed in Annie's room - comfortable, attractive and a real bargain. The innkeeper was very personable and helpful. The breakfasts were fabulous. I would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed at The Headlands Inn from June 29 to July 2, 2008 in the Switzer room. It is amazingly perfect! The room itself is lovely with the king sized feather bed, real woodburning fireplace, large en-suite bathroom (with a window in the shower that peaks out to the ocean!) and beautiful views in every direction possible! It is large... More

After travelling up the Route 1 road from San Francisco we arrived at the delightful town of Mendocino and our stay at The Headlands Inn B&B. We were warmly greeted by the staff and shown to the WJ Wilson Room, which was spacious, well presented and very comfortable. In the room was a log burning stove which was freshly laid... More

We stayed in the Wilson room for two nights. Everything about our stay here was excellent - the location, the friendly hosts, the WONDERFUL breakfasts, wood-burning fireplace, the clean and tidy room. The one negative is the fact that the walls aren't very soundproof and you can easily hear conversation in the parlor or downstairs from the Wilson room. The... More

Situated in a beautiful and peaceful spot right on the west coast, Headlands is a wonderfully relaxing guesthouse with first class hosts. The room we stayed in (the Wilson Room) was spacious with a quiet outdoor patio and a very decent sized bedroom. The room boasted a four poster bed, a dining table, an armchair and a wood burning stove.... More

We stayed for one night in the Wilson room and wished it could have been for longer! We were made very welcome as soon as we checked in. The room was lovely, beautifully decorated and with a wood burning stove (which unfortunately we didn't have to light as it was too warm). This room also has it's own decked area... More

What a great Bed and Breakfast!! My wife and I stayed in the Struass room 3-5 December. It was exactly what we were looking for, ocean view, fireplace and just just tremendous hospitality. I have to say breakfast was my favorite part of the stay, two of the best I have ever had. For sure we will be back.

Excellent! This place is brilliant! One of the first B&Bs we've stayed stateside! Although originally from the SF Bay Area it's hard to find a good B&B. We thought this place totally reflects the pleasant atmosphere of Mendo! The owners were very welcoming! We loved the fireplace in the Wilson Room and breakfast was out of this world. Good cookies... Our most recent stay was 4 nights for a group of 6 people. We had three rooms (Strauss, Switzer, and Wilson). My review is mostly on the Switzer room, since that is where we slept. Our room was really cool, both in how it looked and in temp, with lots of light. We both like it a bit on the... More
